Is anyone familiar with this set? How's the transfer quality of JP1?

Nice it comes with JP1 and 2 coasters!

Not shitting on the deal, just the 2 money-grab sequels.

I bought this set when Persian Mafia posted it earlier this month (for a buck or so more). I'm not BR connoisseur, but it looked decent to me. Be advised, however, that it was a gift for my brother and I just glanced at it as I walked by the TV while he was watching it. What I can tell you is that it was dispatched on the 9th and I didn't receive it until the 23rd. Amazon UK's shipping time to the US is on par with Banggood. Also, although it includes the digital copies, you have to jump through a few hoops to get it to work in the US, since the codes are for the UK.

Lol... they're on there... for now.. but they recycle and move their stuff around, so it'll be there until it gets cycled out, whereas here you are owning the blu ray permanently. The reasoning that's its on Netflix isn't good enough anymore since they don't keep their releases permanently for you to watch any time.

I guess that's a matter of opinion. How many times can you watch the same movie? It's not even a comedy to where you probably missed jokes. I mean I have my favorite movies that I've seen 10 times over 10 years but its never been to a point where I'm lost because I didn't get to see it the 11th time. To me buying something because it might not be available in the future doesn't seem economical especially when prices tend to drop over time and it could probably be got for less down the line if it is ever removed.

this is a good deal for all 3. this is slickdeals, the point I'm making is that we're on here to Get the best deal on items.. the fact that it's being streamed on a particular streaming monthly service you have to pay for has nothing to do with this. + There are so many different services

I understand what you are saying but my point is not with other services but the one that was at hand, Netflix. I've had Netflix for a long long time now and not everything gets removed and some stuff that does is after years and years.

As is about getting the most you can for the least amount of money. Buying this while it's on Netflix is redundant now and if it ever does get removed there is a very good chance it will be even cheaper later.

Anyway to each their own. I was just commenting on the netflix thing because it seems like we have complete opposite theories.

I hate how the European versions plaster those gaudy ratings on every possible side of the packaging. Do the UV codes work for North America?

They won't redeem through a US UV account. There are tricks with proxies though.

Your pts are valid and its up to everyone to make their own mind up based on what is best/most important to them.

You mentioned comedies and for me personally, they are among the movies I tend to re-watch the most & have adjusted my buying patterns to reflect that. 3Ds & Marvel/WB super heroes are other areas that are important to me.
Most of the Jurassic Park movies can be added to a UV library permanently for $1 so for me that is the route that makes the most sense.

I no longer subscribe year round to Netflix, and for me personally there is an O.C.D component to owning the movies (whether a physical copy or say an UV digital right to stream it).

If these movies or this style happen to be favorites of someone or they have fond memories etc. it could make more sense to own them on BR. I picked up the two that are 3D used, just bc I love 3D.

This UK pricing differential is another uncertainty to consider. It wasnt that long ago when the U.S dollar bought far less in the U.K.
Studios charge far less for movies in the U.K. than in the U.S to begin with; so that combined w/ the strong U.S. dollar to Pound Sterling make this a pretty good bet against future pricing drops especially compared to buying the U.S. version. It's going to be hard to find it brand new much less, unless the U.K currency devalues even further in perportion to the U.S. dollar.
