If you're planning to use this for your car, be aware (from Amazon Q&A):
"If the USB is connected to a car, it will not auto turn-on when the car comes on. Thus it will only reconnect when I manually turn it on."

This device is a fraud concerning aptx claims - It does NOT connect to my Sony Xperia phone in aptx receive mode.
My LG G4 connects but gives no "aptx device" message. That is normal for this phone. It only says "connected to Bluetooth device" and there is no way to tell if it is using aptx.
But, my Xperia ALWAYS gives two notifications when connecting. It gives the "connected to Bluetooth device" message first. It fails and DOES NOT give the "connected to aptx device" message afterward.
I have Sony SBH80 and Klipsch GIG. Both aptx devices that I DO get the "connected to aptx device" message from when on my Xperia phone.
Returning device. FYI got the square one from gooloo directly.

In for 1. Not the slickest deal but decent enough to replace the 9 foot audio cable extension coming from the TV which I'd probably trip over given enough use. Here's to hoping the lag won't be too bad.

I bought one yesterday and it hasn't shipped,,,,,, yet.
A couple things I've noticed when purchasing from third party seller is sometimes they disappear and never ship, or it takes a couple weeks before they ship. I'm getting tired of that.
If it's shipped today I'm happy.

Ps, for this price the LL, low latency, is probably not up to spec. All my reading brings me to believe it will be 100ms and not 40ms. Not good for transmitting from video. But, I'm only using it in receiver mode for streaming music and it doesn't matter for that.

I got similar from eBay.. Am not sure abt tech specs but I used it for both transmitting and receiving, it works great with no lag.. The USB can be plugged in always like a power source too.. Price is just 10.99 with free shipping.. Let delivery takes time but compared to cost, I was fine to wait.

I have a similar device. It does not work like the builtin bluetooth. E.g. if you have computer that you use a microphone headset to connect in order to use Skype calls. The device will cannot provide the bluetooth to the computer in such a way that lets you use a bluetooth headphone to do that Skype call.
For one thing you notice that the microphone headset you use to make the Skype calls with has a 4-section plug, whereas the audio connector used by this device has a 3-section plug. So, you can use it to play music by transmitting it from a non-bluetooth device, or receiving it on a non-bluetooth device. In other words, play music only. You cannot use it for phone calls where you need both listening and talking. I don't know how many people appreciate the difference.

Which question number is that? I want it to come on when power is restored without having to push it's power button every time. I know most BT hands-free devices can come on again, may have to get one of those instead of this.

NM I found it-
Will this device auto pair after the first Bluetooth pairing? And will it auto reconnect if the Bluetooth source moves away and then comes back again?
Answers-
Yes
Yes
But, will not come on automatically when power is restored(I would have to power it from a hot unswitched power source, and it would then be on all of the time)

Skip.

The main reason to pay $25 for this is the Apt-X low latency, for using it as a tv sound transmitter/etc. Otherwise there are cheaper bluetooth transmitters/receivers.

From the amazon reviews [amazon.com]:
Quote :
When pairing the GOOLOO 4.1 transmistter with a ELECOM 200mW BT APT-X receiver, I measure a latency of 116 ms using professional-quality audio hardware. The ELECOM receiver is known to work well as APT-X, and I have measured ~30 ms delays using it in a path with other transmitters.
116ms is a ridiculous amount of delay for a device claiming to be AptX low latency. 30-50 is nominal.

While the actual manufacturer does claim [skywing-hk.com] to have these both built using the CSR BC8670, it seems likely that there's some other issue with the design introducing latency. That or they screwed up the codec handshake somehow and it's dropping to SBC even when connecting devices with AptX LL support.

LOL, both are A2DP.
AptX is still on A2DP, it is just a compression vs. old SBC.
AptX can be on any version BT from 2.x to 4.x

Does anyone have experience using this to play music via phone in a car that has Bluetooth capability for calls only. Would I be able to connect to both BT on this to play music and seamlessly be able to answer calls via the built in BT in the car?
