Didn't this come up for $698 with a $300 GC as recently as two weeks ago? Better by $25.

Is there any pattern to these Dell home TV deals? Do they change on certain days or is it just random.

Does this make for a good computer monitor?
Yes see below:

For those that were wondering: This works wonderfully as a computer monitor. It is an IPS panel with good uniformity. The panel supports 4:4:4 Chroma, covers 98% of the sRGB color space, 71% Adobe RGB and 75% of DCI P3 color space. The measured contrast ratio is 740:1 and color is very accurate, after calibration the dE average is 0.23. Text looks very sharp and colors look great. I sit approx 30in away from the screen

I dont game I use this as a productivity monitor (Mostly Lightroom, Photoshop and AutoCAD). The screen real estate is amazing. I went from dual 23in monitors to this 43in tv and its much better to work with. Lightroom I use to work with one screen as the editing screen and the other screen was the full screen preview screen. This worked well but I had to constantly look left and right since the the full screen preview was much larger than the photo in the lightroom pane since all the tool palette take up so much space. With the 43inch 4K screen the image area is approx. 32inches diagonal. Since you have much higher vertical resolution you dont need to scroll as much with tool palettes which is very nice. The same concepts spill over to photoshop and AutoCAD. AutoCAD is a wonder to work with at this screen size and resolution. Windows 10 has very good snapping so you can easily and effortlessly snap windows to each corner effectively making this a 4 screen 21in 1080P monitors without bezels.

A few downsides,

1. The TV does not automatically turn on when your computer turns on like a typical monitor. This is a tiny annoyance at first but after awhile its a non issue for me now. On the upside the TV does have a setting to automatically turn off after there is no source detected (AKA you computer goes to sleep/Turns off)

2. 4K at 4:4:4 Chroma @60Hz is quite taxing on the video card. Thats a lot of Pixels to push, nearly 8.3 MegaPixels. Now I am plugging this into a AMD HD 7970 from a mini display port, to a club3d mini displayport 1.2 to hdmi 2.0 adapter to a amazon basics Category 2 (High Speed) HDMI cable. This enables me to get to the 4K at 4:4:4 Chroma @60Hz. That is the downside, with older technology it takes a little bit of work to get this working to the full potential. Also drivers can be crucial in getting everything working right, If you see flashing or some weird things happening its most likely the cable, the driver or the connection. 18Gbps is a lot of data to push through a cable (SATA operates at 6Gbps).

With the Dell gift card makes this a pretty good deal considering you could pickup a GTX 1060 for pretty much free and have a good monitor plus graphics card

Very enticing deal at $373 overall if you subtract the coupon. Problem is I have no need for the dell gift card as I rarely make purchases from Dell.
Fine print also states that the coupon is valid for 90 days in certain states. Would be all over this if it was a mail in rebate of sorts.

This is supposed to be a very good PC monitor if you have the hardware to handle it. It is an IPS panel capable of 4k@60Hz running full chroma 4:4:4

Current ebay deal for this guy is $539 from buydig, Buydig ebay Sony X830C [ebay.com]

800D is 2016 model, this is a 2015 model. The 2016 models are not IPS so they don't make for good monitors, but it's a better TV overall

How is the ips glow from two feet away on a monitor this big? Is this an LG panel or something sony actually makes? All the ah-ips panels I've seen from LG have really bad ips glow.

I was actually looking for Sony Android TV and this size is good for me. Any knows if any other retailer has little bit cheaper for price match? + if I use my chase freedom or discover I have 3 months for price protection, also looks like dell has 10% rewards. So 275$+10%rewards+possible cashback from your credit card.
