I don't know if it's just my local Petco or not, but their prices are always MUCH higher than Petsmart or Walmart on IDENTICAL items.(same UPC code) I'm a cheapskate and I've done price comparison extensive at all three stores. (again, just the three that are here locally)

Yet I still see people shop at Petco despite of the much higher prices... are those rich people who don't care about prices? Big Grin

See in my instance we only have Petsupermarket and Petco, both have similar pricings.

The dry food we buy our dogs can NOT be bought at Walmart, so that is out ....and actually even the prices on Amazon are the same.....unless I happen to find a deal/rarely! Now canned cat foods I can more often find deals on Amazon for....believe me I shop around. laugh out loud

You have to be a PALS rewards member....but you can easily sign up at the cash register at check out, or I believe online too.

Think of it like a CVS or Walgreens, Grocery store member savings card....(they just use your phone number if you don't have your card with you to look you up to apply discounts.)

I signed up initially because since I shop there....I might as well save there when possible. Also they do send these promos to members including $5 rewards bucks at times to use, and what I like there is the discount is automatically deducted at check out, so I don't have to bring a coupon etc.

Did not occur when my wife went yesterday. She got a free can cat food. But no $5 off $25.

I am a PALS member. I was asking if the promotion was targeted (meaning you had to receive the e-mail) or if it was open to everyone. I typically like proof of a promotion before participating in it.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood you. I don't think it is targeted, since it is a PALS promo. Best bet would be to call your PETCO or PETCO corporate posted on the web and ask to be sure. If you call would you please come back and post your findings for others to also know?

Is she a PALS member, also have her look at the receipt as it says on the promo that it will also be printed on there. The $5 off $25 will only work on her next purchase starting 9/6...please see in my original post, the details on that.

This....Petco is way overpriced (and their stores are always filthy compared to PetSmart).
