Thread Details

I don't know if this is the right place for this - mods, just move it if I'm in error.

Can someone help me understand some details of dealing with Sears points.

1. I just placed an order. The item page told me I'd get $25.xx back in points as an enticement to buy so I bought it. Now on the order invoice I don't see anything about my bonus point used to entice me.

Are they suppose to show up later ?
If I used points I had already towards a purchase, do I earn points of my total purchase or just the cash balance less points applied ?

2. If I earned points on a purchase, then later used those points and later still return the first item that I earned points on, do they charge me for those earned and used points based on my return ?

idk, this is really getting to be more of a headache then it's worth. I'm not trying to get away with anything but Sears practices border on predatory and deceptive
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

1. Take a screen shot of every offer detail, the item, and the transaction page right before you pay. mOst people have pics of their kids and pets on their phone, I have sears and kmart transactions.
if you use points to pay the entire balance you will not receive points. you have to pay at least a penny. if you use a $10 back in points on a $50, you can use points to get your subtotal down to $50, but then have to pay that.
2. They will reduce the value of the refund amount.
it is quite the headache, but I have been taking screen shots and notes on my transactions and I call about once a week to speak with customer service to get them credited back properly. I don't recommend this reward system to anyone at all. I would tell you just to run away, far, far away. I do their rewards now because I know their system, but they also know me, so I think its just a matter of time before they stop adjusting my balance for me (i have had over $1,800 in adjustments this year).

I'm beginning to think the same. I placed an order for some utility gloves with points. I received the order pickup email and went to the store 9-10 days later. After spending 15 minutes waiting for the lone cashier at Sears Hardware to get off the phone, I spend another 20 minutes waiting for her and the manager to figure out what's going on with my order. Ultimately, they couldn't find it in the system and determined they no longer even carry the item I was picking up. They directed me to call SYW, who in turn told me to call Online Solutions. I spent 55 minutes on the phone with them during which time the CSR cancelled my order and claimed to place a new order for pickup at a different store. I never got the order confirmation and when I called back the next day, I was told the order was never placed. I spent another 45 minutes on the phone with a CSR who, initially, told me she would replace the $10 in points because she could find no record of my original order. I offered the order number a half dozen times and she refused - insisting that I give her every other piece of information on my account from the SYW number to my phone number to my address. Finally, she agrees to take the order number and HEY, she finds the cancelled order. However, she states that it may take a few days for me to get my points back. I tell her the gloves are on sale for $10 down from $15 and may return to full price at any time. She offers me a 10% discount off the $15 if that happens. DOH! At this point I become really irate - reminding her that I have now spent nearly 2 hours trying to get this stupid issue resolved. Suddenly, she finds a way to return those points to my account immediately. She then tells me that she is issuing me 2,000 points ($2!) to make up for the 2 hours of lost time. Seriously?! Perhaps $2 means something in whatever goat-f***ing, third world village Sears has outsourced CS to, but to me it was just adding insult to injury.

Last year, they cancelled my Kindle Fire 10''
It shows cancelled in my order but they didn't refund money back to my bank. It was $140.
What a PoS company.
