** We would like to welcome HawiianDawn as the new OP **.

Please thank
thelahaiesfamil for all of her hard work in this thread.**

Being a military spouse has its many challenges. One of the challenges is trying to feed your family on a limited income. I thought it would be helpful to the many of us SD'rs out there that are military or military spouses to have an official Deca/ Commissary thread. There are so many great deals and YMMV by store, but at least here you may be able to look for a deal that you might not have known about before. I HTH someone save a little for thier family!! Enjoy! Smilie

IMPORTANT COUPONING INFO:
Subject = ScotchBrite Coupon

Message
Hi.
I accessed your website and found a $1 off any one product coupon that
expires June 30, 2010. I tried to use the coupon today and was told the coupon is
"fraudulent." However, I found it on your website.
Are you not honoring the coupon you posted?
It certainly is embarrassing to have someone tell me the coupon I got from
a manufacturer's website is fraudulent.
Thanks,
XXXX XXXX

Dear xxxx,

Thank you for contacting 3M regarding our Scotch-Brite(TM) internet printed
coupons.

It is up to the retailers as to which coupons they will accept. This is
still an active coupon. We suggest you try another retailer.

If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards,

Patron Comments: I was told I could not use my Scotch-Brite coupons at the
XXXX AFB commissary because the coupons are fraudulent. The coupons were
obtained from: http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure...nailsaver/
The current coupon is:
http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure...coupon.pdf The
coupon available when I printed my coupons was the same coupon, except it
was for $1 off one product. Can you tell me what is fraudulent about these
coupons? Is 3m not honoring them? It certainly is embarrassing to be accused
of trying to use fraudulent coupons when I got the coupons from the
manufacturer's website. Thank you

Dear Ms. XXX

Thank you for accessing the Defense Commissary Agency's web site with your
concern. I apologize for any inconvenience you experienced at the XXX
Commissary.

I cannot tell you why the commissary did not accept your coupon; when a
commissary informs you a coupon is counterfeit, we expect them to be able to
show you the notice. I researched the counterfeit coupon alerts we have
provided to the commissaries and did not find one for Scotch-Brite brand
products.

I am copying Ms. xxxx, Scott Store Director, on this e-mail. I
suggest you contact her at xxx-xxx-xxxx to set up an appointment to meet
with her on your next visit to discuss the specifics of your coupon and the
items presented for purchase.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to address this issue. I encourage
you to continue to take advantage of your commissary benefit and the 30
percent plus overall savings. If you need assistance in the future, please
do not hesitate to contact Ms. xxxx or any member of her management
staff.

Sincerely,

xxxxxxxxx

Ms. Lxxxxx,

I don't see anything in the fine print limiting redemption to Walgreen’s,
although naturally they want you to use it there since the promotional money
is being provided for their company! So, yes, the commissary can accept
this.

Wow, I'd love one of those tearpads too if anyone finds them. The px got in some Bob's shoes....I got the px mailer a week before, planned on going the Friday they put them out, couldn't get there until Monday.....and my size was completely sold out already. I'd love to get to order some from a p&g tearpad rebate! I even know what size to order now. For me they ran a 1/2 size big, and I'm pretty set a size 7, needed a 6 1/2 in Bob's.

I tried to search on WUC to find what store had the tearpads and couldn't find it. Do you know what type of store the tearpad was found in?
TIA!

makes sense, being in this thread. I do know from time to time notes are made in here about things at other stores. My commissary rarely has p&g anything--no coupon inserts, no tearpads.
This is Ft. Leavenworth, KS. I am shocked when there are any there at all.....

Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough!

I sympathize. hug

My oldest graduates next month and we have 25 people coming to town so we're landscaping the yard, painting rooms, re-grouting tile, car shopping for oldest child, filling out apps for more scholarship money, it's track season, prom is this weekend, AND I just planted my vegetable garden. I'm also doing all the research for my mom and my in-laws that both want new cars before May. And fighting local water rate increases. And trying to finish our taxes (again), in a way that we can lower the $4,000 we owe, before the 17th.

I ...AM ... EXHAUSTED!!!!!!

In the last 4 weeks, I have been in Walgreens 3 times and only acquired ONE $2 RR. And yesterday I had $8 in RA Up's rewards expire ... because I was just too damned tired to go use them. Embarrassment

I'll be so glad when I'm dead. I can use the sleep. laugh out loud laugh out loud

Add me to the exhausted list. I read some of the threads - but then it becomes tiring because you have to click on the link - which means you have to move your finger....

Then I tried shopping at KMART, which is not for the faint at heart....

Had some big drama when one of my coupons wouldn't work - Renuzit B2G1 Newspaper Insert coupon - so the NEXT time I went to KMART they singled me out to approve my coupons because "We have had PROBLEMS with YOUR coupons..."
I was only using 2 coupons (sad isn't it?) - and dang it if the guy didn't THROW my Ritz Printable on the counter and tell me he didn't have to take it because he had a book of 23 pages of BOGUS coupons. EEK!

Talked to the manager who just kept telling me "Well, you know... we have had trouble with YOUR coupons..."

Mad

I haven't even been to the commissary yet this month.

Counting the days until this semester is over...

Everytime I think about couponing at Kmart I read a post like this! Sorry you had issues hug
When I was using my Allegra coupon this weekend the checker asked where I got it from...uh the newspaper! I clipped it a little large so I think that was part of the issue, but I did that so I wouldn't lose it since it expired so quickly.

KMART.... I stopped shopping there few years ago. They are lost case for me. I have had nothing but bad experience with them, and the last straw was when they issued me a refund on something for about $20 that was their mistake to begin with and then I clearly heard the manager telling the cashier that he has a way to "fix" this. Oh well, a week later I found out what his way was... He cancelled the refund on my credit card! Luckily I had the paper receipt and I disputed with my credit card and they refunded my money. But since then I pay everywhere with a credit card and I never set foot at KMART, no matter how hot the deal is!

On a deal related note last time I was at the commissary I saw these [amazon.com] clean & clear morning burst ... pads for $4.31 and there was a peelie for $3.00 on it making it $1.31! I love these and I usually pay a lot more for them but now I am fully stocked for some time! I bought 6-7 boxes.

AND NOW a word from our sponsors.....(Posted on the DECA FB page today.)

NEWS YOU CAN USE: FORT LEE, Va. – Changes are on the way in how commissaries handle coupons and product returns without receipts, among other things, as the Defense Commissary Agency enacts customer service policy changes to protect the commissary benefit. “The average coupon user might not notice the policy changes because they are aimed at preventing possible misuse of the commissary benefit – primarily using coupons to get large amounts of cash back,” said Joseph H. Jeu, DeCA director and CEO. Commissary shoppers are big users of coupons, as evidenced by DeCA’s consistent ranking among the top 10 grocery retailers in coupon redemptions over the past several years. Commissaries welcome coupon usage; and to acquaint customers with the changes in the coupon acceptance policy, it has been posted DeCA's Facebook Notes page.
Key changes, which go into effect May 1, include:
• Gift cards will be issued to a customer, in conjunction with cash, whenever a transaction total reflects $25 or more is owed to the customer due to coupon “overages” (when the face value of the coupon exceeds the selling price of the item purchased and the transaction results in a negative balance)
• Gift cards will be issued to customers, in conjunction with cash, for refunds of $25 or more when a receipt is presented showing the merchandise was originally purchased with gift cards
• Gift cards will be issued to customers, in conjunction with cash, for refunds of $25 or more when a receipt is not presented
• Clarification for instances of suspected privilege abuse
• Update to the coupon acceptance policy that clarifies dot-scan barcode requirements and pin requirements for unique numbering, that photocopies and counterfeit coupons are not accepted, and that coupons must be printed in English
The changes harness the scope of the new commissary gift card, which has been in use since last summer. Available only in denominations of $25 and $50, issuing gift cards as an alternative to paying out large sums of cash brings DeCA in line with other retailers’ practices and ensures DeCA’s cash flow is not adversely impacted. Amounts under $25 will be in cash.
“Commissaries are providers of a benefit that sell groceries at cost, and using the gift cards to cover certain refunds and coupon ‘overages’ discourages practices contrary to DeCA’s mission,” Jeu noted. “We value coupon usage because it helps our customers boost their savings,” Jeu said. “These changes are in the best interest of all concerned to help ensure that coupons continue to be a great source of savings for our customers.”
