** We would like to welcome HawiianDawn as the new OP **.

Please thank
thelahaiesfamil for all of her hard work in this thread.**

Being a military spouse has its many challenges. One of the challenges is trying to feed your family on a limited income. I thought it would be helpful to the many of us SD'rs out there that are military or military spouses to have an official Deca/ Commissary thread. There are so many great deals and YMMV by store, but at least here you may be able to look for a deal that you might not have known about before. I HTH someone save a little for thier family!! Enjoy! Smilie

If you were signed up for the Buzz campaign for Glade expressions starter kit is $1.70 or close to that price at the commissary so $2 coupons work nicely on those. nod

I am not sure I even want to try to use Wags RR at the commissary. I am not sure it is worth the grief. Plus I only have 2 $3 RR. I had to use my others to purchase a hand mixer at Wags since my DH could not find it in our kitchen. Oh well I am sure it is there but DH started started snarling when I tried to look for it when I got home. Guess I can't complain too much since he cooked Thanksgiving dinner and I was out shopping!

Drugstore shopping at my town was weird-last year lots of new couponers. This year not very many and I was the only couponer trying to get low OOP! I didn't completely succeed, but I tried Embarrassment At Wags they had the stock for BF, but they stuck it in odd places and didn't have any of the tags up so that made things interesting!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

It was on the DECA (commissary) Facebook that they will take Wags (etc) RR if they don't say ONLY at Wags on them. I have used them before, but sometimes they say they need to call for approval. Good luck!

At Scott - The cashiers might not know, but customer service knows. I just used some tonight. The cashier called customer service and asked if they take Walgreens coupons. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

CS came out and explained to them that they take them as long as they don't say ONLY on them.

I usually make sure I take another RR, and so I can show them the difference- and where to look if I have to.

They aren't used to taking them much anymore, so I wouldn't expect some of the cashiers to know. But a quick call to CS takes care of it. CS might have to walk out and look at them to make sure they don't say ONLY - but they know.

I was out there today and they had Planters 6 ounce fruit and nut trail mix on clearance for .94 cents a bag. The $1 off any 2 Kraft coupons that they have hanging all over the shelves everywhere includes Planters. So that brings them down to .49 cents a bag.

The stovetop stuffing also works with that coupon. They are .75 cents a box. So that brings them down to .25 cents a box.

Also - the boxes of Idaho Spuds are $1.27. They have a Try Me Free sticker on them (Pink). You can either get a refund or FOUR $1 off a box coupons by mail. Based on the price, I think the 4 $1 coupons would be a better deal.

They had lots of 5 lb bags of hamburger marked down to $1.70 a pound. They weren't able to sell it all today, so they were moving it to the freezer.

I had them go back and get me one. The butcher came back and apologized for taking so long and told me "I was checking to find the cheapest package, because I know how you shop. LOLOLOL

Geez - and I haven't even been out there for a few months.

I just popped in, used the coupons on the shelves (closing time on Sunday...so not a bunch of them left) and the P&G RRs.

Oh - yeah - They had $1 off 2 Kraft and Oscar Meyer refrigerated coupons. The Kraft Big Slices of cheese were $1.79 before coupon. And I got some of the Oscar Meyer 20 ounce family size ham that was $3 before coupon.

I didn't see cracker barrel listed on the q. Frown It is $1.99 and I love that stuff!

Other than that - I don't think I know very much.

thanks. one more question, I want to use it to buy toothpaste but i have coupons for the toothpaste, can the RR still be applied if i don't have anything in my transaction that doesnt have a coupon already attached to it? i feel like i'm thinking to hard on this one but just want to make sure.

The RRs are a "On your next order" type coupon. So they don't apply to any specific item. As long as you have more items that coupons (including the RRs) you are fine. They just work as $X amount of your whole order.

Gads! Are you still having trouble with them over coupons? shake head
My base is pretty good about coupons (at least until they move a new crew in to customer service.)
Of course, what would I know? I have only been shopping there a couple times in the last few months....
When the cashier informed me that my RR was a Walgreens coupon, I told her to get ahold of CS. I was relieved when I recognized the CS person. I was hoping I didn't have to start training a new crew yet.

I don't think a lot of the employees actually have a good attitude about coupons. But they have learned how to behave appropriately, regardless of how they feel about them. I have had some cashiers that say they are afraid to use coupons because they don't want everyone to be mad at them.

I made a glorious find today! I am sick and had to go to Urgent Care today and have a Strep test etc. (It was negative for the instant Strep test, thank goodness!) Anyway, I went to pick up my RX at Albies & they have a big box of bags that say, "free" by the RX counter. I took a couple and low & behold each bag had a free sample of Gum picks and a $2 off ANY Reach Floss q! I instantly felt better! The fine print said limit one per purchase, with no limits per transaction! I was wondering how I was going to hold over until the Nature Made becomes a nice MM on Dec 16th.

I also told them I'd like to sign up for their free RX gift card program and they gave me a $25 Albies gc! I'm sick, but happy with the deals I found today! Now I just have to go special order some Reach floss & start planning my lovely deals! I'm not sure if all Albies are giving out these bags, but just thought I'd give my fav thread the HU. Last time I went to the Dr. they had $2 off ANY Advil which worked perfectly on the 10 ct size at the comm for another MM!

P.S. I can't remember if I posted this already, but they have Hamburger Helper on sale at our comm for 49 cents per box with $1/3 coupons under it. (All flavors except reg Lasagna,YMMV of course.) Great deal if you use these. Have a fabulous day everyone!

Think of RR use at commissary as you would Walgreens.

If you have a coupon for each item but want to use RR to cover the rest of the cost then find small fillers (one produce item for instance: one banana) or something else you can use that is small oop, and then the rr will attach to that one single item but the overage will apply to the rest of the cost in the basket.

You cannnot stack a RR with a coupon, one coupon or one RR per item

.
Follow the terms on the RR the same as you would at Walgreens, cant be used on Dairy, Tobacco, gift cards, etc. So make sure your RR doesnt attach to one of those and you are fine

Always check your P&G RR because once in a while there will be ONE P&G item that will show ONLY redeemable at Walgreens.

Fortunatly for all of us last weeks P&G's from wags do not have the dreaded "only" so they are good to go!

thank you for that. I used them today. The bad thing is I used self check out today and since it was about 10 min before they closed they were in a rush to close them down. Because i was in a hurry i forgot to go back and grab the cheap chips. The RR's went through no problem but next time i will def. have a filler. Something i learned that i thought was kinda cool was that they scanned with no problems at self checkout. I just wanted to scan to see what it would say before i called over a person and i had no issues. For some reason i never thought a store coupon would scan at another store, silly me i guess. Thanks again.

RRs aren't store coupons. They are manufacturer coupons. A store coupon will not scan at another store. Look at the bar codes on some of the Walgreens store coupons. They bar codes are VERY different from the bar codes on manufacturer coupons.

RRs are not store coupons. They are manufacturer coupons printed at the store.
