** We would like to welcome HawiianDawn as the new OP **.

Please thank
thelahaiesfamil for all of her hard work in this thread.**

Being a military spouse has its many challenges. One of the challenges is trying to feed your family on a limited income. I thought it would be helpful to the many of us SD'rs out there that are military or military spouses to have an official Deca/ Commissary thread. There are so many great deals and YMMV by store, but at least here you may be able to look for a deal that you might not have known about before. I HTH someone save a little for thier family!! Enjoy! Smilie

IMPORTANT COUPONING INFO:
Subject = ScotchBrite Coupon

Message
Hi.
I accessed your website and found a $1 off any one product coupon that
expires June 30, 2010. I tried to use the coupon today and was told the coupon is
"fraudulent." However, I found it on your website.
Are you not honoring the coupon you posted?
It certainly is embarrassing to have someone tell me the coupon I got from
a manufacturer's website is fraudulent.
Thanks,
XXXX XXXX

Dear xxxx,

Thank you for contacting 3M regarding our Scotch-Brite(TM) internet printed
coupons.

It is up to the retailers as to which coupons they will accept. This is
still an active coupon. We suggest you try another retailer.

If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards,

Patron Comments: I was told I could not use my Scotch-Brite coupons at the
XXXX AFB commissary because the coupons are fraudulent. The coupons were
obtained from: http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure...nailsaver/
The current coupon is:
http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure...coupon.pdf The
coupon available when I printed my coupons was the same coupon, except it
was for $1 off one product. Can you tell me what is fraudulent about these
coupons? Is 3m not honoring them? It certainly is embarrassing to be accused
of trying to use fraudulent coupons when I got the coupons from the
manufacturer's website. Thank you

Dear Ms. XXX

Thank you for accessing the Defense Commissary Agency's web site with your
concern. I apologize for any inconvenience you experienced at the XXX
Commissary.

I cannot tell you why the commissary did not accept your coupon; when a
commissary informs you a coupon is counterfeit, we expect them to be able to
show you the notice. I researched the counterfeit coupon alerts we have
provided to the commissaries and did not find one for Scotch-Brite brand
products.

I am copying Ms. xxxx, Scott Store Director, on this e-mail. I
suggest you contact her at xxx-xxx-xxxx to set up an appointment to meet
with her on your next visit to discuss the specifics of your coupon and the
items presented for purchase.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to address this issue. I encourage
you to continue to take advantage of your commissary benefit and the 30
percent plus overall savings. If you need assistance in the future, please
do not hesitate to contact Ms. xxxx or any member of her management
staff.

Sincerely,

xxxxxxxxx

Walgreens RR CAN be used at the Commissary, see below:

Ms. Lxxxxx,

I don't see anything in the fine print limiting redemption to Walgreen’s,
although naturally they want you to use it there since the promotional money
is being provided for their company! So, yes, the commissary can accept
this.

Hey guys - I am so out of touch and flustered and NOT caught up at all.....but in case it hasn't been posted - I just got some lunchables at the comm for free and for 50¢....the ones with fruit were 50¢ after q and didn't beep, the little subs were free but beeped...I didn't think they should have bc the q said sub along with several other kinds....and the cashier agreed and pushed it through....but anyhoo - just a heads up.

On another note - anyone have anything GOOD to say about FT Leonard Wood? Hubby has been there several times for schools, I have been there to visit him while he was there....and now if nothing changes....we have orders to go there in April. Yippee. lol

Hope you are all well....would love if I was here wayyyyy more often, just doesn't seem to happen. Many hugs to all!
Good to see you!! hug Will he be non-deployable? After my hubby's last deployment, he was given a non-deployable teaching position for two years. Hopefully that's going on with ya'll too! Smilie

Oh and you'll be close to JTeef. That's a plus!

Good question - we just found out this morning so it's still a new thing - not really sure of much right now. Only thing I've googled so far is that there don't seem to be any Charter schools or anything other than normal public schools and that scares me for my son! Would be ok for my daughter but not my boy Sadwalk

(oh yeah and no Walgreens for 22 miles!)

Good to see all you guys too - I love you all bunches - I just don't come here often enough to prove it Coverlaugh

Yahoo!

I have never had anyone close to me before (that would admit it....)
Yep. About 150 miles away from me. Ft. Leonardwood is my second closest commissary. I have never been there though. Been past it many times.

I think it is somewhat in the middle of nowhere. I think Krogers is in the area - and maybe Walmart - but not a whole lot. Pretty close to Lake of the Ozarks. From reports - commissary seems pretty coupon friendly (kind of sort of...)

One per purchase would be one per each item purchased. One per household would be one per each household. But I would think One per purchase / household would be one per each item purchased per household....which kind of goes back to one per purchase.

I've always heard it called "Fort Lost-in-the-Woods" I can't help on positive things for there because DH had the chance to go there and when I did my research, everyone was negative so we didn't take it. Haven't heard good things about the commissary either. Wish I could give you good news jbrowns Frown

I've never been there and the only person I know who has, was writing to me while there for Basic, so I'm not going to count that...

I'm just going to guess it will be a bit more hot and humid than you're currently used to... Smilie

I've got to say though, a little humidity can be a nice thing. The multiple spots on my fingers that were cracked open from dryness (packing paper just makes the problem worse) have all nicely healed this past week. Of course, the high here so far has only been (I think) 78 degrees. It did feel about as hot in the apartment as my house in CO when it's in the high 80's though. I hope we find a rental house soon, this apartment is tiny. At least the dogs aren't barking a terrible amount and so far, nobody has seemed to care that we have 2 dogs that are just "a little" over the 25 pound size limit...laugh out loud

Our government is still busy trying to figure out ways to charge the military for their few military privileges.

Co-pay for pharmacy prescriptions may possibly be raised.

wave Hi all! I continue to lurk, but thought I'd pop in. HD, my hubby also has a "controlled tour" - non-deployable teaching position, although the length of his is like 4 years. I think we still have two or three years left on it, funny thing is, he actually wouldn't mind getting deployed for the experience! I would mind, of course, but then our AF deployments are only 6 months or less.

Also, my hubby didn't pass one of the components of his PT test this morning.. so now we have that to deal with, and trying to make sure it doesn't affect his EPR, etc.. thought you gals might understand a bit more than most! What a headache. Facepalm Not to mention a great way to set the mood for our vacation next week!

Okay, they know we plan on collecting retirement at age 41 once he's put in his twenty years, right?! They better not change this, I'd be a pretty unhappy camper.

I was driving home yesterday and stopped at McDoanld's for an ice tea. I went to the drive up. Briefly considered going in to use the bathroom - but thought "Nah... I will wait until I get home."

A few miles down the highway - the car starts to handle funny, I see the Low Tire Pressure light come on - and my back tire went completely flat.

Called roadside assisitance - they said someone would be there in an hour. EEK!

Now I had the tea I had put in on top of the tea I still hadn't gotten rid of to deal with.

Luckily - there was a small wooded area by the road. So I thought - I will just slip in there.

But the thing about wooded areas - is once you get in there - you can still see the road - so you are not quite sure if the road can still see you...

So I had to decide - In case someone CAN see me - which part do I want them to see ? I didn't want to show my butt.... But then again.... if I turned the other way - they could see my face.... So I figured well dang - if they see anything - it would be better to show them my butt -

So I decided to aim my butt toward the road - figuring that if they saw that part they would be less likely to recognize me at Walmart....

I don't feel as bad about my Sunday mishap now. Those of you that are FB friends already know this. I was so excited about my Dial coupons arriving, that I didn't realize till I got to the commissary that I was wearing two different slippahs. (flip flops to you non-locals.) Blush3
