Regarding upcoming Kaby Lake CPUs:
Kaby Lake U parts, low power for laptops and 2 in 1's, are due in September. The i7 7700 and i5 7600 are due in December, Also, Intel has dropped "tick, tock" and now uses "PAO", process, architecture, optimization. Kaby Lake is the first "optimization", so the performance difference from Skylake is likely to be minimal. The Kaby Lake platform does add native USB 3.1, HDMI 2.0/DHCP 2.2, and the integrated graphics support HEVC 10 bit (4K UHD) and VP9 decoding.
