Interesting concept, but powerline ethernet is cheaper and accomplishes essentially the same thing.

if you don't need more than 100mbps, get the cheaper directv DECA adapter that run ethernet over coax, only about $15 of less for a set, and work at 100mbps. I've used it with great success to run an AP at another side of the house.

From everything I've read, MOCA is more reliable and has better throughput. I have a set of the older ActionTec MOCA adapters and it works great. Just yesterday I was actually looking to pick up another set so I can put an adapter at two more TVs.

Much better than power line no question but these were $8 few months back.

These are absolutely fantastic. There's no comparison between MoCA and Powerline. We just moved into a place that isn't wired with Ethernet and there's no way I can fish wires. Worse, the same reasons that fishing wires is infeasible also makes WiFi coverage challenging. Having tried Powerline in the past, I gave the MoCA 2.0 Bonded set a shot not expecting much; but I've been blown away. That's not to say you'll get full gigabit speeds or that there won't be hiccups now and then, but the solution is the best I've found for those of us who aren't able to run Ethernet in walls. I've already placed an order for a couple more.
