yes. equivalent to i5 3340. throw in an rx480 or 960/1060 or equivalent and you have a VERY solid gaming machine for cheap, if the psu has the right connectors.

doesnt appear to come with a hard drive though, so a cheap assd would be ideal.

also, I think better deals for these server type builds come along from time to time from lenovo.

3340 is Ivy Bridge, this is a Sandy Bridge (ie i5 2XXX)

looks like an i5 2400 with a bit more cache.

This is a good deal for a server if you dont mind the old CPU and if you were going to buy the raid controller and dual NICs anyway.
For general use IMO the Dell deal a couple days ago was a better deal, much newer and faster CPU and a HDD.
you would need to upgrade the ram on either so thats a wash

nope, the psu is not good enough for that card. You would want a good 500w psu (450w minimum).

It would work as a Plex server. A deal though? I don't know. For a little more you can get one of the new Dell T20 xeon deals that pop up with newer processors.

On eBay they have a NEW G10 for $215
https://slickdeals.net/f/9063003-hp-proliant-ml10-v2-tower-server-i3-4150-8gb-ddr3-500gb-hdd-215-free-shipping-ebay-daily-deal

Comparing both CPUs
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Xeo...re-i3-4150
The Core i3 is better in every way except it's advantage is lost on a couple of multi core benchmarks by a decent margin.

If you're planning to run esxi, proxmox, hyper-v, etc with lots of resource intensive VMs then this Proliant G7 will have a slight advantage. However, anything else the newer G10 seems like a much better deal.

8gb is more than you needed.
