I don't actually know if this is a good deal, and I think the OP for posting it...

but if any Sony reps are reading this, this is (in my opinion) foolishly expensive for what amounts to access to a bunch of old games that aren't selling otherwise. PS NOW should be included in PS+, in my opinion.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea either, but I recently really wanted to get PS Now just to farm trophies in a bunch of horrible games I don't really want to buy (Barbie and her sister's puppy rescue.....) Whether or not I can find 12 months worth of games I want to farm is something I have yet to determine.

Edit: There are also a few "newer" games that I want to play on that list like The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, but I feel like I'll probably buy a copy eventually.

Now PC only players will be able to play series like Ratchet and Clank. To me, this is a deal for people that don't have a PS3/PS4/PSV. I think that its worth it.

I thought $99.99 a year was the new pricing that they introduced last year?

Well according to their blog post:

"To celebrate the launch of the new app for Windows PC, we're excited to announce one last bit of news. For a limited time only in the U.S. and Canada, you can lock in savings of more than 55% off the regular monthly subscription price!"

I am not sure what to make of it other than it is said to be a limited time thing.

Their normal price is $20 a month or I believe $45 for 3 months so 12 for $99 is a good deal based off the normal price.

The $20 a month is too much but 12 for $99 is fair. There's some decent games on there that I never got to play when I had my PS3 (last of us, journey, heavy rain) that may make me bite on this.

including ps now in ps+ is worst idea, because it will increase ps+ price for people who dont care for it.

Well, they're already increasing the price next month.

I have stopped buying games since I've subscribed to PS Plus last year so I guess if this is just a temporary price drop I will have to extend my subscription.

As someone who came over from the 360 and never had a PS3, $8.25 a month is a great price for the service. I got in on the summer promotion at $10 a month and it has been well worth it. Most of the complaints you'll hear about the service are either from PS3 players with existing libraries wanting free backwards compatibility or people running it on wireless and getting lag and drops. I'd say if you never got to play PS3 exclusives, are a trophy hunter, or want an option to play some games that might cost $5-10 used with only a whopping $0.25 trade in value when you're done, then this might be worth it.

That said, 12 months is a long time to commit to it - all it took was a new PS4 game or PS+ sale to come around and PSNow went unlaunched for a while. For me after 2 months PSNow sat and the 3rd month expired while I played something else for PS4. I have no regrets for what was essentially $30 for 2 months as I played it a ton in the beginning - but once you get past the first few months and the newness runs out, the value diminishes.

On a side note if the service was a bit more stable on my Vita it would get a boost in usage but right now the selection is pretty limited if you get the input lag I had. If you can't stream your PS4 smoothly on your Vita, you'll have likely issues with PSNow too.

But it would be much more if ps now is included, I reather pay $99 for 12 month then, $220 for 12 months. Plus you can play all the top ps2 and PS3 games on the go with the vita, including arcade titles. And now I can play many PS3 games on my laptop or my computer. Plus all my Samsung tv have ps now, so I don't have to drag my PS3 everywhere.

Including PS Vita and PS3 games then should piss off a lot of people. That is by your logic.

Its not really emulating anything. What the software on the pc does is just process a video feed and send input commands, the actual game is running on sony's servers (likely running on actual ps3 hardware). I doubt anything like this can be 'cracked' since sony authenticates the users account everytime.
