Nostalgia incoming. All games are redeemable as Steam keys.

Pay $1 or more for:
- Space Quest Collection
- Phantasmagoria 1-2
- Police Quest Collection
- Shiftlings

Beat the average ($12.55 at last update) to get first tier plus:
- Aranum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
- TimeShift
- Quest for Glory 1-5
- Gabriel Knight 1-3

Pay $15 or more to get first and second tiers plus:
- Caesar 3-4
- Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Divided
- King's Quest Collection (1-7 classic titles)
- Velocity 2x

Pay $20 or more to get first, second and third tiers plus:
- King's Quest: The Complete Collection (includes 5 new chapters + prologue)

I already own QfG 1-5 and KQ 1-7 on GoG, but I probably will beat the average for GK, since I'm in for the $1 tier anyway. If I hadn't bought them already from GoG, I probably would be in for the $15 tier.

Price notes: The average started at $6 and had exceeded $10 by 3:30 PM EDT.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Q: For what platforms are these games available?
A: Download via Steam only.

Q: For what OS are these games available?
A: All games are for Windows only except for Geometry Wars 3, which is compatible with Mac and Linux, too.

Q: Do the old games require Dosbox to run?
A: The older games will launch with Dosbox like other old Dos games on Steam. Everything is already configured and all you have to do is launch the game. The original game files are available under your stream library path \ steamapps\common\__COLLECTION__

The overall experience (especially music) is greatly improved by using scummvm [scummvm.org]. Additional patches can also improve music [sierrahelp.com].

Many of these old games had a debug mode that allowed you to manipulate the game in various ways (walk faster, teleport, add inventory, etc.). If these games are direct ports, you may be able to still access this mode. You can find out more about the debug mode here:

It's because these are the games that defined computer games back in the 80s and 90s and a high percentage of game players (and money spenders) are in their 30s-50s and remember these games fondly. As horrible as they look now, they were cutting edge at the time. Seeing your first 16 colour game, or hearing your first non-beeping game was a humongous achievement back when IBMs were new and couldn't do anything other than beep.

I'm so torn on this, because I LOVED the games, but will I really go back and play them again? The only reason I would, is to share the experience with my wife and kids.

20-30 years from now, you'll be nostalgic over the current gen of games, and your grandchildren will laugh at the graphics and realism and wonder why it's not holographic and immersive. Smilie

The new Kings Quest series is $30 on Steam alone, so $20 for the whole shebang, is pretty sweet.
This may be the first time I ever buy the whole bundle! $20 for all these freaking gems! Amazing.

$1 tier is worth it for Police Quest alone.

I got my $6 BTA price lock in as usual while others were posting this deal on SD. I saw the price dip to $5.62 briefly, but I couldn't catch it in time. Considering I don't own any Sierra games on Steam, I'll probably go with BTA. It's very debatable whether the $15 and $20 tiers are worth it knowing those will go on sale in the near future, but at least the newer games have HD resolution graphics, I believe.

I played a lot of these old games by Sierra when they were first released, back in the VGA days. I haven't researched any of them on Steam yet. Have they been remastered or are we still talking about 640x480x256 colors which will definitely decrease my enthusiasm for them greatly?

It looks like they're direct ports. Apparently these were *just* added to Steam. (ref [pcgamer.com])

I locked in the average at $6 and didn't even see that dip while I was typing this up. Considering the second and third tiers, I don't expect the average to come back down.

For reference, I paid $8 on GoG for QfG Anthology + King's Quest Anthology during the December 2014 holiday sale. (QfG is an ATF of mine.)

From what I can read in the reviews of Caesar 3, graphics didn't really change since the original release. Oh well, probably paying 15 for nostalgia's sake.

My guess is that it's either embedded or recompiled. None of the Steam reviews I've seen so far mentioned having to install it beforehand.

Yes, most of these use dosbox (included with each pack). The original game files are also included and should generally work with your own dosbox install (you could also play on other platforms such as mac, android, linux, etc). In most cases, you can get much better results running them with scummvm.
