Thread Details

Royal Caribbean is having a sale on some cruises with prices under 40 a night. Right now I see 5 night Cozumel/ Key West cruise for 179pp and 4 night Key West and Nassau for 157pp.

Cozumel depart dates look like Oct 1, 6, 15, 20, and 29th.
Nassua looks like Oct 6, and 20th.

Non-FL residents pay slightly more 198 or Cozumel and 188 for Nassau.

I used my chase sapphire reserve points (transferred from sapphire preferred and got my cruise free). Only need about 46,000 points since points worth 1.5 times there amount when you call and book through credit card.

See breakdown for FL resident Cozumel cruise

# Fare Type Item Description Unit Price Qty Extended
1. Cruise Cruise Rate $179.00 2 $358.00
2. Cruise Government Fees $103.28 2 $206.56
3. Cruise Gratuities $67.50 2 $135.00
Total $699.56

those are very typical tax and port charges.

this is an older and smaller ship (so it depends on what you are looking for in a cruise).

see attached pic of the empress and the newer oasis class ships.

super short notice. I wouldn't really call that a cruise sale. It's a last ditch effort to fill rooms.

Let's not forget to include around $103 extra per person for taxes and fees.

If driving to Miami wasn't such a godawful experience, I'd consider it. It's pretty cheap even after all the fees, but that boat sucks. It was small when I first went on a cruise as a kid in 1996. It's time they put that boat out to pasture.

great time to go seeing as there is a hurricane that is destroying florida as we speak.

Seems like a great deal. Dates don't work for me right now unfortunately.

Between hurricane season and Zika I'm sure all cruises sailing out of Miami are getting killed right now. Ft Lauderdale most likely not be doing much better.

TD to the poster. You need to add the taxes, port charges and gratuities to the price which are mandatory and can be almost as much as the cruise price.

If you really want a good deal out of Miami, hop over to Norwegian for the 4-day Bahamas all inclusive cruise. $487 total for two. Almost all other cruise lines would charge this just for the alcohol package.

Where else can you stay for 4 nights, breakfast, lunch, dinner, entertainment, alcohol and transportation included for a low low cost of $122 a night for a couple?

4-Day Bahamas from Miami - Alcoholic drinks included
$129 + $114 taxes/fees = $243 each = $487
