Very true, but 1060 is also more expensive. Especially when you consider the 512MB SSD this thing comes with (albeit not PCI-E). So yeah, this is a tough call, but seems to be fairly priced.

Oops. Meant 512 GB not MB. At any rate, I'm with you. I'd rather have newer / faster as well.

huleeeeee's post above claiming that the 1060 outperforms the 980m is bullshit at best. Per the website you linked to, "no clear winner declared". Rolleyes2

I'm in the market for a new gaming laptop (my current is a 4-year old laptop with an HD 7670M). All I play is WoW (I know, I'm behind the times) and I'm trying to find the right mobile card selection for the right value.

The data on that benchmark site seems so strange. On paper it looks like the 980M should handle more (more quantity in terms of architectural stats) but seems to actually "perform" worse (flops, bandwidth etc).

Should I look for 980M models to go down in price soon and they would be a good value for what I need? WoW doesn't require a hardcore CPU so I could even get away with an i5, so long as it's intel (better at single-threaded tasking).
