This is my first time post, long time lurker here.

Craaaaazy deal for those of you on the fence for a light weight backpacking tent.
The lowest I've seen is around $299.

I've been watching the price on this guy for a while now and I just pulled the trigger on it because it's the lowest I've seen.

It was $299.98 yesterday! $228 for this tent is absurd!

that's a hefty premium to shave 2# off a littany of 2p tents under 2 hundred. Unless you're a serious ultra light backpacker of course.

These are nice tents for the serious backpacker. I have the 4-person Papa Hubba NX, which I picked up at Amazon last year for $374 + tax. You do have to be careful around the zippers, but that's true of any ultralight tent.

Well that can be said about pretty much all ultralight gear. Those extra 1-2 lbs per item can be crucial even if you're not an ultralight backpacker if you're hauling a lot of gear/supplies over long distances (e.g. AT through/section hikers). I learned that lesson the hard way on my first backpacking trip.

I drink too much IPA, that 2# is the least of my worries.Wink

Bought a Marmot 2p limelight for $130, works well tho!
