caveat emptor - fyi:
NOT 'Apple Refurbished' !

This is a Geek Squad Certified Refurbished product.
No mention of warranty terms or if it is eligible for Applecare either.

Pretty killer deal if you don't mind refurb and tax.

Can you still add ram to these? Because you're going to want to add RAM.

Looks like you can add ram, just be picky about what you purchase to install - 27" models seem to have preserved this feature.

The bigger issue IMHO is that you can't easily move to a fusion or pure SSD for boot setup. Someone please correct me if I am wrong about that!

Did anyone check whether the 10% off single item coupon works on this?

Yes you can! You can go up to 64GB.. I'm at 32GB (8GB x4 Slots) of RAM and waiting for the 16GB per slot rate to drop a little bit.

You're right about not easily upgrading hard the drive. The great thing about Mac's are, you don't have to reboot them that often. If you can deal with the non SSD startup time (go do something and come back lol!) this is an awesome deal IMHO. Use the savings to get nice thunderbolt storage (blazing fast) or usb 3 storage (fast) you'll be a happy camper.

Note that this will handle basic/standard photo/video edits with 2GB dedicated graphics RAM. If you're a hard core editor then you might have to go with an i7 and 4GB graphics Ram option.

I have one of these and its great overall, so much better than a PC. However, the hard drive is the bottle neck. I have plenty of ram and when i look at what is maxed out and slowing things down it is always the hard drive. Its not a direct swap out to add a SSD but its not overly difficult and it will make a huge difference. About 300 bucks for SSD and parts to change it over. But even if you don't, for that price, its incredible and the display is so much better than any monitor i've seen. Not to mention only having 1 cord is wonderful.

Why don't you list the 2TB refurbished for $1,239.99 instead? Only if you can locate one in store which is almost impoosible.

You are not a noob, put refurbish in title.

They must have gotten a lot of returns, including mine.
I purchased this for the 5K display. The i5 processor and the 8GB ram can not handle it.

Not available to ship, only pickup in store (if available). YMMV at this point.
