Just set mine up. Amazing coverage and speed. Acs and AC version 2 are the exact same routers. Both had all issues addressed that were found with version 1 when launched. Buy with confidence.

If using 5ghz, I found the mixed mode to have better results than leaving in AC only mode. It could just be my devices I tested with...laptop, tablets, and phones. Mixed mode provided a consistent throughput when tested on all. AC only mode showed bigger speed variances on speedtest between devices. It could just be me.

Also, if you already have a great router, this makes for a great access point (bridge mode), or range extender (wireless bridge mode). just remember to setup the same SSID, but different channels.

Well, looking at how fios works, I don't see why not.

Edit: Unless something is changed, looks like you need a MoCA WAN bridge of some kind. Someone with FiOS expertise should chime in soon. It doesn't look like this router can be plugged in and you're good to go out of the box.

Depends if you have FiOS TV service. If so, the only to get rid of their router is run Ethernet from their box (sometime outside the house or in a garage) to the router. Alternatively buy a slight older version of their router on ebay and connect the routers together, with this one doing most of the hardwork. Google is the question for a more elaboration answer....

I feel dumb for asking but does someone who's only paying for 10mb download speeds from Comcast really need a router this powerful? I mean yeah I'll be gaming but my limiting factor would be my internet speed it seems like now a days. Do you really see a performance difference if your just using this for home use?

nope, you're better off getting something in the $50-$60 price range

How does this compare to a Netgear Nighthawk 1900?

So you think type N is fine for use at an apparent or is it better to use AC in an area with multiple routers near by?
