Advice for building website

jayeggs 129 72 September 2, 2016 at 07:31 AM
Our football team is looking to upgrade our current website. We currently use eteamz.com but to me, it looks very boring. We do already own a domain.

I have a very basic understanding of how to build a website but would prefer drag and drop style.

I have looked at Wix and it seems simple enough. Any better or cheaper options? I have Office 2013, is there anything built in that would be useful?

Wix and Squarespace are the two largest players in that market. There are an infinite (slightly exaggerated) number of options but those two sound like they fit your abilities the best.

Use something that's pre-built with a content management system. There's thousands of options out there that will get you up and running fast. Wix would be fine, as would any pre-built Wordpress host if you want more of a "bloggy" feel. This will also make it easy to share ownership with other users, or transfer to someone else eventually.

I wouldn't advise building something yourself if you're new to the field, because it's not worth your time for a simple team website. Office isn't the right product for this anyway. Then it's a pain when you're no longer associated with the team and they have to start over again.
