at 380 this is pretty tempting to use as a monitor

I had been eyeing this for a while @ $418 and now that its $40 cheaper, I pulled the trigger. Gonna use it as a monitor. 4k@60hz, 4:4:4 over HDMI 2.0... really all I'd require for basic productivity. Can't wait!

40in as a monitor? For couch gaming? Seems kinda big for sitting 2-3 feet away at a desk

At 4k, it'll be awesome. I'm shooting for a 50" 4k mounted on the wall

Hell I use a 50" TV now that I sit maybe 2 feet from while gaming, it's all good

And first time account at Jet (code SHOP10) can get a GTX 1080 for a little under $620 + possible tax. LINK [jet.com]. $620 + $380 makes a nice round number.

4k gaming for 1k dollars laugh out loud. Tempting.

(assuming you have an i5+ PC with PSU already)

I am a technical caveman. I'd love to use something like this at my desk sitting 2 feet away where I spend too many hours working with mainly Excel spreadsheets with many, many columns. What kind of graphics card would I need for maximum sharpness and readability? I currently have GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970 4GB. Will that be adequate for my needs with this TV? I appreciate any help from people who know. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

I stand corrected. I guess gaming with this would be worthwhile. Too bad I only have a 1070 and not a 1080 :/

All of the GTX 9XX series have HDMI 2.0 support, and there should be 3840x2160 @ 60hz listed in the nVidia control panel under the "PC" section. Under Ultra HD section, you won't be able to select anything over 30hz. But keep scrolling Wink

Thanks for the post. I too had been eyeing this TV to use as a monitor with my Mac. I'd just about pulled the trigger a couple times at around $447. This made it much easier!

Now I just have to tell the wife I bought this before it shows up.

just to comment on using this as a monitor. I have a Vizio 55" 4k that I use as a monitor mounted on the wall. I do game on it and I must say it's very good @ gaming and browsing, picture is very nice, but you must have a video card that supports this feature. I'm liking this price, I have been watching this TV on amazon for a bit and this is the cheapest I've seen . really tempted.
