Costco.com has the recently released Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) tablet, including a bonus 32GB microSD card, for $239.99 [costco.com] with free shipping ($289.99 regular price - $50 off from 9/1/16 through 9/25/16). Non-Costco members should be able to order it with a 5% surcharge.

Alternative buying choices: $250 [bjs.com] at BJ's until Sept 14. $248 [samsclub.com] at SamsClub.com until Sept 18 (thanks craigg).

This tablet is close to $300 MSRP pretty much elsewhere, without the bonus 32GB card.

Specs:
- screen: 10.1" 1920x1200 glossy PLS LCD screen, 16:10 aspect ratio (unlike the older Tab A-series with iPad-knockoff 8.0"/9.7" sizes and 4:3 aspect ratio), 224 dpi
- CPU: Samsung Exynos 7870 octa-core, 1.6 GHz, GPU: ARM Mali-T830 MP2, 1600 MHz.. Midrange SoC probably close to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6xx (slower than the more common 8xx, faster than the budget 4xx)
- RAM and storage: 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, about 10.5GB free out of the box
- SD: microSD slot supports up to 200GB. 32GB microSDHC card included (probably a Samsung card in this Costco exclusive bundle).
- Network: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac MIMO VHT80, Bluetooth 4.2
- OS: Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- Cameras: 8MP rear camera with LED flash, auto-focus, and 1080p video recording; 2MP front camera
- Sensors: light, hall effect, acceleration, GPS
- Connections: USB 2.0 with OTG, ANT+
- Battery: 7300mAh
- Dimensions: 10.0 x 6.11 x 0.32", 1.16 lb

Is 2GB enough for web browsing and gaming?

I am done with any more samsung products. 3 year old tv.. died. 2 Galaxy Note 4's - both dead, both about 13 months old. And my 1.5 year old Galaxy Tab S 10.5" tablet - acts freaky on me.. reformatted several times, and just freezes and locks up.

I know they make nice products, but they just do not last! And I BABY my stuff. I won't make any comments on the Fire Note 7 that is now in recall due to them using cheap batteries!

The 8inch one was on clearance for $46 in some Walmart B&M but even thought the app said it's in stock none of the stores actually had it. I think the stupid employees just keep all of it for themselves. Happened with a lot of other clearance items too.

I'm guessing you don't treat your stuff like it will be the last phone or tablet or that it's made of glass. everyone today seems to treat their stuff like it's disposable and it's no big deal so they treat their stuff like crap all the time. I have a Galaxy Note 3 that I bought the year ago and it's still working great.
