I was eyeing this for a long time when it was $30+. Nice addition to our sound system for when we have a party and many people want to use their phones to put some music (we have a DJ roulette thing where everyone chooses some songs)

It allows up to 5 devices to be connected and broadcast to the same destination:

Edit: Forgot to mention that it has micro usb power, so this can also be used in cars with a proper usb adapter...

Bluetooth receiver... you plug it to your speakers (or car, it also has microusb power) and then you connect your phone/tablet to this via bluetooth and transmit the sound.
The advantage of this one is that you can connect up to 5 devices at the same time, not only one like most of the integrated Bluetooth receivers.

This device lets you stream music from your phone to the moto stream which connects to any speaker system with a 3.5mm/ 1/8in input. The cool thing with this device is it has a built in nfc chip so you just tap a phone and it will sync, no typing anything in. Since it goes over bluetooth any phone can work with it without having to be on wifi like chromecast audio

5 phones at a time can connect, but only one can play music at a time and any of the 4 other phones can knock the other one off.

Since I got a smart tv hooked into my stereo with Google music app built in I've not used mine as much, but before that it was handy to have around and lets you play music while still keeping your phone in your pocket.

So this vs ChromeCast

requires wifi
streams from the internet, you can do other things on your phone
Digital audio output

Over bluetooth
Music streams from your phone, if you get a call the music will stop or if you play a game that audio will come through

basically this turns any speakers into bluetooth speakers, limited appeal but for those that would want it it is handy.
