Price Match to Amazon for 649 and get this for 649 + Tax - 300 gift card. Check for previous threads on this. Not sure if this would work still but if it does, this would be a slick deal.

I believe $649 price is for 2040 (not 2045) at amazon.
2045 is for $728 (new) and refurb for $699.

still there is extra $120 dollars savings if get pm for $728. any idea how to do it? sorry, I tried searching previous threads like u suggested, but couldn't find. tia.

Do u need lens shift to have more flexibility in placing the projector from different distances from your screen? Does this have it? I have a 105" screen now and it seems like any upgrade to a new projector would require me to buy a bigger screen if i wanna have the new projector mounted where the existing is--- like 15ft back

It would sure be cool to be able to use the screen I have now. Any way to do this ?

Price match wouldn't work anymore. The previous deal worked because best buy actually had the 2040 model number on there 2045 product page. So when reps check the prices of the 2045 by the model number only, they would land on the product page of the 2040 either on Amazon or B&H. Best buy now has the correct model number on the 2045 product page.

also noticed 2 series models don't have lens shift. since this is for home theatre use (and not office presentations,) I prefer to have lens shift to avoid managing the tilt and screen cloth size.

Historically, when ordering online the cash back cards are processed separately. Based on this, one could (theoretically) do two separate projector orders for your two in-home theater setups, wait for everything to arrive, feel guilty for having too many home theaters in your home, return one projector and keep all the cards thus producing a really slick deal. Theoretically.

So... aside from the $500 GC error deal, the best deal for this projector is the $699 + $200 GC?

they accidently had 2x $200 gift cards and a $100 GC. $849. It was short lived and was removed the same day but a few were able to get it.
