Haha , so if you have an accident the unit will turn off AC or heating in your home and put some sombre music to play on Echo... nifty...

If you have a teen learning to drive, the License+ app looks like a winner and seems to be included (or free).
Anyone have experience with License+?

But when the company's own website says it's for 5 years, I'd take the word of the company over another organization.

Lifetime of the product not your lifetime.

Actually if it features geofencing it could be very useful. When your car leaves the home, all lights turn off, garage automatically closes, all doors lock, arms the security system. Same for when you get home...disarms alarm, unlocks doors, etc.

Or you could buy a two dollar unltrasonic sensor to see if a vehicle is parked in the garage and have it do all of those fancy things.

The Non Pro version is available on Amazon for $79.99 , same features minus the 3G which might not be a big deal because the phone app connected to adapter does the same with IFFT.

I'd be interested in what the privacy policy says and what they do with your location info...

I have the non pro version, this one is quite a bit better because it logs information without having to have the app on all the time on the phone, that eats up the battery. Plus there is plans to tell where the car is if it gets stollen. Big plus.

Who would connect their car's brain (ECU) to internet? Once it's hacked, they can disable this and that. Oya, why pay subscription when other brand allows you to track things for free or as cheap $10 for 3 months GPS tracker. This device does not even allow you to hotspot its 3G internet

It does as does the less expensive non-3G version. The latter just relies on your cell phone for the connection. It's OK. How well it works depends on what you're connecting to and it's not always the most reliable. Most systems will let you lock but not unlock doors, I suppose mainly because of liability concerns.
