Was looking for a present for my cousin and saw that this New PS3 is now $149 on WalMart.com. Much cheaper than eBay, Amz or BB, not sure if it's a labor day sale but thought I should share.

The vents to bring in air to help cool these systems are on the back and BOTTOM of the system. So if possible pick up one of the official system stands to keep it vertical.

But if you MUST keep it horizontal, either due to space constraints or just personal preference, then I'd suggest putting something UNDER the system to improve airflow around the system.

I myself have my current PS3 up on a wire mesh basket like you would see in an office setting for an inbox/outbox for work. It has rubber feet on all four corners and that is what I have the PS3 balanced on so it's not even sitting right on the metal basket.

But anything that works to get the system up off the table or entertainment center you may have it in or on should help.

Then for 149 bucks you can pick up a used one with about 10-20 games for that much at a pawn shop.

few years back, I bought a PS3 with a lots of games (physical) and even more games in the account(of the seller) from Amazon for $100. Did I say, few years back means in 2013?

you guys need to do some research before posting.

many people still like playing old ps3 Games because you don't need to pay for the online Service. my friends and I play black ops 2 every week to stay in touch and have fun for an hour.

if you search completed ps3 systems (say the 120gb slim), most will show up as an average between 120 and 150$ for used. every once in a while a 100$ system will slip thru the cracks.

yes, it's an older system, but there still is a market for them. (on the flip side, xbox360s are about half the price of ps3s on ebay)

People thumbing this down because they're comparing it to a different console are idiots (I really don't understand the thumbs down on this). PS3s are still rather expensive (strangely) and this is vastly cheaper than everywhere else. Hopefully this becomes a standard price drop and not just a sale as I wanna get one again soon enough.

Good deal OP, ignore the haters.

So the "research" is that because "robo456" likes to play the PS3 (and also likes to use random caps and misplaced dollar signs)....that's automatically makes this a Hot Deal. Got it !

No, the research I was referring to is pricing, not if "I" like to play it or not.. sheesh.. these boards.

I do apologize for the misplaced dollar signs and strange punctuation; I was typing on my phone. Auto-correct does some strange things sometimes.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I'm really disappointed as a "L7" poster with that kind of rep, that your posts here in this thread are so sarcastic and unhelpful.

I have a ps3 and play Killzone 3 just about every day. When PS came out with PS Vue, I dumped dish. I am waiting on the new PS4 before I even bother with buying one. The nice part about a PS3 and the PS Vue is you can run two PS3's at the same time.
