IN STORE ONLY: The Bodum Bistro Automatic Pour Over Coffee Machine with Thermal Carafe is on clearance at my local Target for $65.00. In addition to the clearance, I used 10% off from cartwheel and 5% off from REDcard. The total before taxes came out to be $55.57.

This coffee maker is currently $110 at Amazon.

Brickseek showed 6 in hand, but it looks like I got the last one at my store (Chesapeake,VA).

Store Item Number (DPCI): 072-08-1246

edit: here's the brickseek link.

EDIT: This is YMMV. Although the target site says "not sold in stores", I took a chance an trusted brickseek and found one in store for $65. The Bodum Pour over Coffee Maker is also on clearance for $20.98 + 10% off.

Surprised this isn't getting more traction. This coffee maker got rave reviews on gizmodo. http://gizmodo.com/5885503/the-be...ee-machine

Well, we figured out why it's not getting any traction.

Yeah I took a chance and trusted brickseek. I wasnt expecting it to be in stock at that price but I found it in store behind some ninja coffee makers. YMMV.

There's a lot available in the LA area. Local stores still have it on the display shelf.

I saw this at local Target earlier today, but decided not to get it. Now with additional 10% off it's tempting.

I know what "pour over" coffee is but what makes this different than a drip if it's automatic?

A couple of things that many feel make this better than your average drip machine are: Heats the water to the right temperature and multiple streams of water, a "shower" rather than the single stream of water that many coffee makers use. Both contribute to better extraction of coffee flavor. They're on clearance here but still like $96. Doesn't seem worth it to me vs doing a normal pourover which doesn't seem that difficult to me not to mention simpler & easier to clean up after. Not trying to thread cap, seems like a good deal if you're in the market for this type of machine.

Reviews on Amazon are not to flattering reference longevity and Bodum customer service. If you can get it at the clearance price might be worth Targets extended warranty ($10) that will cover you for 2 years so at least you get your money back or a comparable coffee maker should it fail.

Really good point. I've read a number of negative reviews about longevity. Leaking is reported by many. Also failure of switches required for the unit to operate. There's a pressure switch that gets triggered when the carafe is inserted and a solenoid operated I think by the full water tank also required for it to work. If either of these bind up, the unit won't operate. And seemingly the unit is sealed so not user serviceable.

I have no idea why this got thumbs down and such. I found one in a nearby Target for $65 and snagged it with -10% and -5% for $60 out the door with tax. Set it up last night and damn it makes a really good pot of coffee. Tastes just like from my aeropress but I get an entire pot. I threw out a cheapo Mr. Coffee drip maker that cost the same as this deal and couldn't be happier. Thanks OP!

I think it's a good deal and thumb upped it. I got the bodum grinder deal and like it. Probably won't look to buy this myself but doesn't mean it's not a good deal. There are just a bit too many problems reported in reviews for my tastes.
