What makes this better than a 40"/48"/50" Samsung at close to the same price, and that will not have any service repair issues?

Such as: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN...B00Z0IBFYM

Those are televisions, not monitors.

[QUOTE=ryunohadouken;88936803]Those are televisions, not monitors.

Same size, same resolution, same HDMI 2.0a input. The fact that the Samsung TVs have a tuner and 4k smartapps is an advantage, not a disadvantage. We could just as easily call the 40" Seiki a TV without a tuner.

It may be that the Seiki has better screen technology, such as an IPS panel, or that its input lag is lower -- which is why I asked. It does have Displayport/DVI/VGA if that is important for any reason.

unless you have unfixable space concerns i wouldnt dismiss 40" 4k so quickly, its the next logical step up from a 27" 1440p.

You would have to find something with 4:4:4, 60 Hz, true 4k and power management (seriously, turning on a TV and having your desktop messed up because the resolution auto changes all the time is annoying). It also has to not mess with the picture and allow for 1:1 pixel mapping without putting the signal through the image processor.

There are not many out there that do that near the 40" range, and none that I know of under about $800 on sale. You also get a fixed mount on a TV.
