So, I figured it was time for me to stop being selfish, as Ive been trawlingthis sale [amazon.com] for a few days picking out cool items for the GF. They have Sterling Silver earrings starting at about $2 [amazon.com]. This sale as advertised as lasting through labor day, so you folks probably only have 24 hours before prices jump back up!

Ill post a few of my favorite finds, but the best stuff I will leave the enterprising individuals to find for themselves. Is it possible to find things at or below spot? Yessirree. But its more common to find sterling or gold jewelry at 2-3x spot, which is still really good wholesale prices for finished jewelry. Several things that could be price tracked by the three camels showed prices being about half the previous low, and a third to a quarter of the average price.

Here are a few Sterling Silver pieces which I consider to be a pretty good deal:

Good luck and happy hunting!

(hint: You can filter by metal if you select the more specific 'jewelry' category. Be aware, however, that this sometimes filters out certain items that really are the specified metal, so that filter isnt perfect.

Just a few more deals:
A whole yard of silver chain with faceted cubic zirconia for $11 [amazon.com]
Neat tonal amethyst ring for $8. [amazon.com] There used to be matching earrings, but those sold out. Also was available in blue topaz but those are also gone...
Created Sapphire and Diamond necklace in sterling silver for $6 [amazon.com]
and I really dig this blue topaz and cubic zirconia ring in sterling for $8 [amazon.com]
I also like this sterling heart with created ruby necklace and pendant [amazon.com], it comes with a box chain which I think is nicer and a bit more durable than the superfine link chains that normally accompany these pendants.

Also, this 24" snake link silver chain is a steal at under 2x spot! [amazon.com] (one of the reviews said this is a '4-sided' snake chain, which I guess means it has a square profile rather than the traditional flat one.

ugh, what has happened to slickdeals! Nobody has any appreciation for the art of finding deals anymore. People thumbing down, but no constructive criticism. You can lead a horse to water [amazon.com] but you cant make him drink. Limit three drinks. Note the gram weight and do the math yourself.

As I said, there is stuff under or very close to spot [amazon.com]. Much nicer to store $$ in jewenry than in bullion, but the investment principle is the same.

Actually most of the gold wedding bands that are below spot are made in the US...

Only size nine was that price, and its now sold out. There are other wedding rings under spot, I posted one a couple posts above. Usually only a single size is heavily discounted enough to be under spot value...

lol. I guess even Fred Flintstone needs jewelry?

Here is another ring about 18-20% under spot. $44 and at least $52 in scrap value (Size 9.5 only): https://www.amazon.com/Classic-Fi...1MK5&psc=1

Who would pay that much in scrap value? Kitco would only pay around $16, for example.

$16.50 PER GRAM FOR 10k from Kitco [kitco.com]. The ring I linked to is 14k, for which Kitco pays $23.30 times 2.13 = $49.63, assuming weight in the item description is accurate. You can get a better spread if you are near any jewelers. When I lived in Chicago I could easily sell scrap gold for within a few % of spot...

Thank you OP, I never even thought about looking for silver/gold on Amazon. I always assumed it had a huge markup.

I don't believe it is a real sterling silver earring, can't match the price...
