Lenovo G570 power issue?

Have a G570 that was running ok. Upgraded the hdd to ssd.
Used Acronis True Image software to do the clone. I've done this a dozen times, so I'm not a novice at this. Once the software finished the clone, the laptop shutdown (normal).
I disconnected the hdd from usb.
Hit the power button-nothing. No lights, no fan.
Remove battery and try again-same result.
I removed the ssd, and put the original hdd back in-same result-nothing.

The laptop is plugged in, and the orange light is steadily lit, which should indicate the battery is fully charged.
I have tried to power on with the battery installed and removed. All with the same result.

Any ideas?

A Lenovo tech suggested this Lenovo Laptop Won't Power On Try This - Your Local Tech:
First unplug the AC adapter.
Next remove the battery.
Then press the power button 11 times, and hold it for 30 seconds on the 11th time.
Finally plug the AC back in.

Read that somewhere else. Tried it 2x. Same result-no post. Thanks
