Deal valid 9/4/2016-9/6/2016

This model is currently selling for more than $420 at most other online retailers and has received mostly positive reviews (Google link here [google.com]). IMO it would be very difficult to find a better brand new computer for $300. This exact model at the same price was one of Office Depot's Black Friday deals last year. Also, unlike many other desktop computers at this price point, this is a real desktop PC - not a laptop platform in a desktop form factor. It's a bargain on a good, mid-range PC intended for everyday use & light gaming. Lenovo is currently the most reliable Windows PC manufacturer according to Consumer Reports.

There are lots of bad reviews on this machine. I would stay away.

DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER!!! I purchased this H50-55 from Office Depot at the end of February. It kept shutting down and restarting on its own. I thought it was the updates for all the programs (since it was new). Finally, I realized it was a problem with the computer itself. Called Lenovo since it's under a 1 year warranty. In the past 3 months of dealing with Lenovo, I have had 3 technicians come out to replace multiple parts and restored it to factory default settings TWICE. The problem continues. I'll be in a program (there's no specific one that triggers it) and it will just shut down and restart itself, in the mean time losing whatever I might have been working on! Today, a technician came to replace the motherboard, fan, power supply, and processor. Now, it won't turn on at all. He replaced my original components and it still won't turn on. Lenovo now says it takes 3 business days for them to decide if I should get a new computer or if I should ship this one to their factory for repair. Absolutely ridiculous! I will never buy Lenovo again!!!

This is the worst Computer I have ever purchased. This Computer's performance is terrible, it is a less than mediocre piece of junk. One month before the warranty expired, it failed, I had to replace the Motherboard. After replacing the Motherboard, Windows deactivated. I called Lenovo who promptly informed me that I was on my own. They said that they will not supply the product key to reactivate Windows, and that if I wanted to reactivate Windows, I would have to buy a Product key. Price $199. Computer cost $399.95 so this piece of junk would essentially cost $600 plus dollars. I called Microsoft and they told me that Lenovo is supposed to supply the product key, since it is a Lenovo product. I called Lenovo back and they still refused. They would not even let me speak to a supervisor, claimed he was busy. Lenovo is Not a Company one should deal with, their Customer Support is terrible, their support staff is curt, and uncaring. I will never buy another Lenovo product, and I will make certain that my friends and family, don't either. For anyone considering a lenovo product, I advise you to do some serious research before purchasing their products. If I could give this product zero stars I would.

I have struggled with this CPU since I got it. It seems to have a mind of its own and changes functions when it wants to. I finally got comfortable with Windows 8.1 but this Lenovo is my first and it will be my last - GGGRRR!

Has proprietary power supply and motherboard that cannot be upgraded in any way. the motherboard has 18 pin connector so impossible to upgrade power supply that I have found. wanted to add Video card but not enough power. Unable to add additional storage no extra connectors on PSU, If you plan on making no changes or upgrades its a great little computer.

I bought the H50-50 with high hopes for a nice little desktop. The first one I had a little difficulty installing but finally got it installed. Then after a while it was rebooting randomly and frequently. Tech Support could not figure out what was wrong and suggested I return it. I did a swap and the next H50-50 was even more problematic installing, and again tech support after many hours of trying to figure out what was wrong suggested I return it. Needless to say I ended up buying a different brand.

See responses in bold. One needs to take negative reviews of any product with a grain of salt.

There are far more positive reviews than negative ones.

This is a well documented issue with Windows 10 and is not specific to any one brand or model of computer.

While the motherboard failure is notable, I suspect the user replaced the motherboard with an aftermarket unit. This would void the factory warranty and breach the Windows OEM license agreement. Unfortunately, pre-built branded computers (i.e. Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.) come with an OEM-licensed copy of Windows that is only valid with the original motherboard or an exact replacement (unlike a Retail copy of Windows). If Microsoft detects that the motherboard was not replaced with the exact same model that the computer came with, they will deactivate Windows. One can call Microsoft to address this issue. They often reactivate Windows without much hassle if you explain the situation.

This is likely a case of user error/ignorance. There is nothing to "install" with a new computer, just a setup process during the first bootup. OEMs generally do a good job of making this setup process foolproof.

HP, Dell, and other brands have also used proprietary PSU connectors in the past. Inexpensive adapters are available.

This appears to be an exaggerated claim without any details to back it up.

This deal is valid again through 9/17/2016. I've been shopping around for a new PC for a family member for the last few weeks. This is the hands down the best deal out there right now for a brand new AMD A8/A10 desktop PC using a desktop platform.
