i believe you have to create a virtual switch and the use this to trigger that. There's examples on the ST website.

At $12.50 each, this is the lowest I've ever seen them. Already have two and love them but considering two more at this price. Great find!

EDIT: Pulled the trigger for another pair. No idea where I'll use them. Thanks a lot, Slickdeals! Big Grin

works fine with my linear garage opener and smartthings. I just set one button to open and one to close.
Remote auto detected by smartthings and just used the buttons smartapp. didn't require any special programming.

I use one of these for that purpose with a Vera controller and GDC1 zwave opener. Cheaper than to replace the original remote and a better range to boot. My car has USB ports that are always on so if the Minimote battery gets low, I just plug it in overnight.

all it took was to create an Open and Close scene. I have them linked to the same button. Short press to open, long press to close. The other buttons handle various lights if I want to have those on or off.

I have 3 more I in various rooms to control my Sonos via Vera.

D@mn SD, no idea yet what I will use them for but I purchased a 2pack.

Could this be used to control a GE dimmer switch without a hub or is a hub required? Tia

If it's a Z-Wave switch, it should be able to without a hub. Gotta say, though, for what relatively little a hub like SmartThings costs, there's no reason to have Z-Wave devices without one. It makes things so much better. Not that you asked. Wink

What code did you use? There are 2 (one free, one costs) on ST and I can't get the free one to work on mine. I can see the new device, but it won't initiate.

I didn't add any code for the minimote. after I added the garage door opener code I had to remove the opener and re-add it.

I didn't add any code for the remote, but I added the "my z-wave garage opener" and replaced the code per instructions. I'll have to do more research but tips are welcome.

Fat chance that would happen charging this little thing. I did it twice already and she started fine. Granted, she's a Dearborn built car, not some dinky Fiat 500 or the likes Stick Out Tongue. But in the unlikely event that should happen, SD has already taken care of me with a great deal on a Craftsman charging/starting cart about a year ago.
