Not quite as good as past $120 offers but maybe it will stay around a while since the $120 deals went quick.

Tired of the sub $100 inkjet printers breaking after a year or two. Only my wife and I so printing volume is very light. Would this be a good choice, or would i be better off with a cheaper monochrome laser?

I kept missing the $120 also because they went so quick. I have been watching this one because of price, good reviews and you can get a 5 set of refills on ebay for as low as <$30

Do you need color? Otherwise go monochrome.

Yes, they come with toner but usually they are a partial fill (meaning instead of getting say 2000 pages @ 5% you will get 1000)

I just bought a NIB one from some guy for $160 after missing the $120 deals. Printer is solid. No duplex as you know, but no driver assist duplex either. You need to manually print odd/even only if your software supports. Can't handle envelopes at all. No flat through loading like the Brothers have.

Network setup is of course a headache. Be prepared to spend a weekend with it. It does have every connectivity option you can think of if you manage to get them to work.

I saw some generic toners that aren't to expensive. I might even try to sniff the I2C lines that talk to the toner chips and maybe convince them to say something else.

Photo Print quality is less than expected from a 600 DPI laser. I tried a Samsung color laser and was more impressed. Maybe I just need to tweak the settings.

I didn't see any coupons (doesn't mean there aren't so if someone finds one let us know). I did find a rebate though through retailmenot.com. I never did anything but coupons from them but definitely worth trying.

Question for anyone that has this--can you print many sheets of labels on this?

Almost all the Brother printers, labels are single sheet feed through the bypass only. I have a Dell color laser (1660w) that is making strange noises and I can toss a bunch of label paper in the regular paper tray and can easily print a mail merge job of 40 sheets of labels. I'm looking for a replacement for when this dies and to replace my B&W Brother AIO. I need fax, so if this Dell will print labels like my current Dell, I'm all in.

If monochrome works for you, wait till the Dell e515dw monochrome one goes on sale again for $70. And it has duplex printing. Just set an alert for it.

Yes, just load in tray and you should be fine. Just check alignment before you print a huge batch and waste labels if it isnt aligning right
