"Not intended for stovetop use"

Then are they to be used on an open fire then?

Bought several exactly the same looking pots this summer for $20 each in Job Lot store in MA. They are very good .

Boil water, place tea into the infuser, pour the water into the iron teapot.

Voila, an ancient thermos. That's essentially what these are, not a modern teakettle.

I think you put a tea light under it to keep it warm.

I have honestly never boiled or cooked something with a tealight before.

These are pretty nice (and of course heavy). I got the red Nara one as a gift for a friend last year, and she's happy with it. I would note that many of these are pretty small though. Keep in mind that a mug can hold more than 10 oz (so the 40 oz one is only enough for a couple of mugs at a time). Of course, if you're serving into teacups, that's not as much as concern.

Thanks. I ordered a red 20oz one for $16.67 with points expiring soon.
A good size to make green tea. It is big enough for one large mug or 3 small green tea cups (much smaller than a coffee cup).

I the iron is cold and you pour hot water into it, the water would just get worm. Iron will take out all the heat.
