I've been eyeing AK's for a couple of months now and finally made a purchase (bounce) TSS Outfitters has the N-PAP in stock for $611.41 with free shipping. Keep in mind that it must be shipped to an FFL where you will have to pay another fee ($20 for me).

I recently saw a few different variants at my local Cabela's (O-PAP, RAS47, WASR) for $699 each, so I figured this was a good enough deal for me.

Taking into account Cabela's gift cards, tax, and FFL, this was still the cheapest option for me.

Definitely Arsenal if it's within your budget. DDI would also be a better choice than Century.

I'm really in the market for a standard "AK-looking" AK to plink around with like once a year. From what I've read, this should fit the bill for what I'm looking for. Thanks for comments though!

That's a decent price for a N-PAP, but $699 for an O-PAP is a steal nowadays.

I think it was an O-PAP... Tag said M70, but pretty sure I saw O-PAP stamped on the gun

If it had a bulged trunnion, then it was an O-PAP, but I've never seen one at my local Cabela's. You can't even find them online anymore.

It was over on the 'used guns' rack. I'd never seen any AK's there before but they happened to have 4 on Monday

You people telling this guy to get an Arsenal Smilie This is about half the price of an Arsenal. Sure, if you've got money to burn buy an Arsenal. If you want a fun shooter without breaking the bank, this is a good option.
Also may want to do some searching on youtube to find out what that $1200 is going to buy you. They aren't all that.

Good deal on a well made rifle. IMHO:
- The Arsenals aren't worth the extra $600+. If you're gonna spend $1200, just buy two of these.
- The other models (RAS47) have issues. For example RAS47 bolts are made of softer metal, and flatten out after a few thousand rounds.

for those who said Arsenal does not worth that much, they probably don't own one, or not even touched one. They watched some you tuber dumped 5000 rounds rapid through the rifle and complained the "bubble", and decide Arsenal Ian not good. in fact the bubbling will not affect function, only cosmetic. And if some one needs to dump 5000 rounds through the barrel in such time period, the appearance is probably the last thing they care about.

The Arsenal SLR-107FR was going for $911 just a few months ago from the same dealer that the OP posted above.

http://tssoutfitters.com/shop/arsenal-slr107-31-slr-107fr-sa-7-62x39-16-25-mb-10-1-side-folding-syn-stk-blk/

Now it's going for upwards of $1,200, (one just went for $1,500 on gunjoker), due to supply and demand and the upcoming election. I myself wouldn't pay $1,200+ for a SLR107FR, but then again I wouldn't pay more than $500 for a N-Pap unless it's an underfolder.
