They are probably discounting these now that their z-wave plus lineup is out.

The z-wave plus items are usually only $5 more than the non-discounted z-wave items, but with the discounts these are good deals if you don't care for plus.

FYI these take CR123A batteries, but I suppose that's not a huge surprise. I seem to keep holding out for the unicorn devices that use AA and AAAs.

would these work outside in a snowy climate?

Surely the $49 deal for the gocontrol security kit (1 motion sensor, 2 door sensors) is a better deal. Unless you just need a single one of these devices...

Motion sensors are typically inside only or protected from the weather. Snow... I would not suggest

This module has a very limited range, poor battery life, and unreliable performance.

I have four of these motion detectors in my house (connected to VERA3).

I find them to have very good battery life, good range and very reliable performance.

I have had them for 2 or 3 years now.

Would like a scene where approaching visitors to my home brighten the landscape lighting. Any idea how people do this kind of stuff outside if motions aren't the ticket?
