I had this model for over a year. Fits nicely in glove compartment and works well as long as battery is not completely drained.

I bought this back in April on a previous FP deal ($32.99 after coupon code), so this beats that by $1. Good, compact design. Would recommend it.

this is very much more convenient than just the jumper cable by itself. Good deal!

You should be careful leaving it in a car esp if it's a very hot summer. But I agree this is a useful tool for any road trip.

Will it work on electric cars?

If it's an electric car, jumping it would be pointless. If there's no juice to start, there's no fuel to run.

However, on a Hybrid (Honda at least), the hybrid battery is used to start the car, and should never be dead under any circumstances - unless the car has sat for a year or has a very big problem.

BUT, it uses a standard 12v battery to power up the electronics and can't wake everything up to start the car using the hybrid battery if the 12v is dead.

This would definitely start the hybrid. I jumped mine on a UPS battery with tiny alligator clips for a week years ago. A pack of AA batteries (8) in series would have done the job, I bet.

That would come handy if you need to jumpstart a car no need for long old school cord.

Does this thing charge a phone while itself is plugged in?

Been waiting for this to go down again. Had some bad luck where twice in the past 2 months I somehow unlatched my trunk with my key fob and didn't realize til a day or two later (don't drive often). Maybe just had the key fob button get pressed in my pocket I guess. When I went to my car the trunk light being on for days on end killed the battery. Luckily have free jump-start assistance with my car insurance but this would be much easier and quicker.
