Nice price considering it's only been out for about a year and was $400 when it was released.

Some nice reviews:

wow... from $400 to $149 in just a year?

is there anything wrong with this detector to cause such a big drop in price?

I bought the Escort 9500 for $350 a couple of years ago. It is really chatty, especially in new areas.... want something different.

Thanks!

I don't know much about radar detectors. Smilie Frown

I bought the Escort 9500 because it had good reviews and was on sale for a little over $300 at the time. It's mounted under my rearview mirror using a custom bracket. I also have a extension wire that puts a mute button near the stereo. My only complaint is that it's a little chatty... then again, that could be caused by the fact that I drive to new places all the time....

It's outdated and can not handle blind spot monitors it's time to upgrade to something like the V1 with TMF2

I'll quote another slickdealer here:

IMO, the best radar detector in this price range is the Uniden DFR7 [uniden.com]. It has some of the best BSM filtering available today and has respectable range. (Yes, Uniden recently got back into the radar detector business!) Looks for reviews of the DFR7 or discontinued LRD950, which is essentially the same thing.

To me, the key features of the DFR7 are: manual GPS lockouts, amazing BSM filtering, and Quiet Ride which lets you mute all alerts below a certain speed (i.e. 35 mph) It's an excellent "set it and forget it" product.

I've been using Beltronics /Escort products for almost 30 years now. Switching to Uniden was a big deal, but I couldn't be happier. Do some light reading at www.rdforum.org [rdforum.org] If you read carefully, you'll find out how to get the DFR7 for $269.

I have a Stinger VIP in one car and a V1 and Radenso HD+ in my other car and know more about radar detectors than you could ever dream of so if you are going to troll me then at least bring your A game . There are much better options you can still find the LRD 950 that blows the pants off this thing and has GPS lockouts and doesn't leak and piss off other detector users for around $200 if you look around . We will being doing more remote testing next month once the HD+ new controller and display are out worship

I bought the Uniden LRD950, it was the best $100 dollar investment I ever paid. It saved me on multiple occasions and paid for it self.

Cobra detectors are crap, better off getting an Escort/Beltronics/Uniden detector.
