Is CyberpowerPC better than the MSI GS63VR in terms of reliability etc. Nephew wants one and he is outside USA.

In that case get something with International warranty. CyberpowerPC does not provide warranty anywhere apart from Canada and US.
Build quality wise both will be same as CyberpowerPC does not build laptop from scratch. They normally use same chassis from Clevo, the bog brands like MSI, Asus or Gigabyte are using but offers lower price.

Cyberpower is a bad company. Their customer service is terrible and most of their free gifts are a sham. For example, the head set doesnt even work with the laptop, you have to go and buy an adapter.

Their rebate program is very slow, taking months and multiple calls before you will get the actual check.

The laptop shell is flimsy. It is thin plastic that will flex and come in contact with other moving components when held.

If this has the lift bar on the back to allow for better air-flow when playing, it is annoying. The laptop forces you to use it by design. So if you are not gaming and are just surfing the web with it on your lap, the bar rests across your lap instead of thr laptop base. And you close the lid, the bar remains open, you have to close separately.

Lastly, the keyboard is designed funky. The shift keys are the same size as the letter keys and where the extra size of the shift key should extend are duplicate keys that already exists on the keyboard. Useless.

I could go on and give more examples on how they tried to cheat me and my roommate out of extras they promised us, but that makes this even longer. Buy elaeware, these are not worth it. They have better specs, but you will wish you hadn't.

There Customer Service is actually not comparable with any big companies like Dell or HP but their products are pretty good. I am not sure what you are talking about this Laptop but lots of people in here only has purchased this model with GTX970M and all of them, I repeat, all of them actually said that the build quality is superb and the keyboard is really good. I don't think you are talking about this Laptop.

And regarding rebate, I am not sure if they offer any Rebates. The rebates normally come from the original manufacturers when you are building a Desktop from their Site, like say $20 for the Asus Motherboard you have selected. And that rebate is processed by the original manufacturers, not CyberpowerPC.
And here, this laptop does not offer any rebates, it comes with Gift Cards along with the purchase. There is a difference between Gift cards and rebates.

Here is the pics posted by various users after they received their Laptop on the original thread. So check it out and decide before going for this "Blame CyberpowerPC" posts:

The rebates came from CyberPower. I have the stub to prove it.

Its possible they upgraded their laptop since I bought mine, but it doesn't change how the company operates, treats their customers, or builds their PCs. I had never been treated with such disrespect and blatant lying "to my face" (over the phone) and going back on their word from any company before. I have had better foreign call center experiences than with this company. Never again and I will warn all going forward.

Sorry, just wanted to chime in about CyberPower.

I bought a desktop from them. It had a slew of issues from USB ports not working to Windows activation problems. Called customer service numerous times and they were less than helpful and didn't follow through of what they said. (like sending out a new front panel). Build quality was generally disappointing.

I have purchased and had smaller issues with HP and Dell. Both had much better customer (although outsourced ) service.

From my experience,I'd say avoid them. Inferior builds and weak service are a hassle, even if the price is tempting.
