Failing to see where the deal is here. I can't check out for less than $56 and there's no device included. Compared to the constant $.99 SIM deals this makes no sense.

I think the confusion is the Data. This actually uses GSM data. It is taking the Standard $19.99 a month plan(Unlimited Talk/Text and 1GB Data) and giving a break on members wanting to pay upfront. You would normally pay for 1 year of service $239.88 with the GSM sim and this plan. But Freedompop is offering a break of $71.88 or a savings of 5.99 a month. You save 6$ and this is currently the Best deal out there for the GSM Global Sim. The Free Plan for the GSM sim is 500 text, 200 voice and 200 mbs Data.GSM Data is kind of spendy.

This is a joke right? First the voice and text are voip not native. Second google voice has free unlimited voip voice and text and Google network is far superior

I know it's not GSM but FreedomPop spoiled me with 2 gigs of tetherable data with premium voice and mail for $3.99 a month. It would physically pain me to pay them more.

This is GSM, I think that maybe the confusion on the Great deal. Normally with the GSM Sim you get Unlimited Talk/Text and 1GB data for 19.99 a month. Paying upfront and you basically get the same GSM plan for 13.99 a month. That is a pretty good savings. The big 168$ is just allot of money, unless you look at the Big Picture, you would normally pay 240$ for the same plan when you purchase the GSM sim. Its actually a Great deal for those member who need to use the same 19.99$ a month plan for longer than a year. Maybe these guys will release a different one soon. This is just the start I am sure. I personally been on the Free CDMA plan with paid Premium Voice for a while, me and my kids. I have yet to break into the GSM phones and Plans yet..looking for the right phone.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The 2gig deal I mentioned was not GSM. I realize this deal is GSM.

2GB for $3.99 is a killer deal, I would hold on to that one! Currently 2gb CDMA data is $24.99 for Unlimited T/T and 2GB Data, or you can get Unlimited everything for $29.99. On the Hotspots, USBs and Modems, 2gb is $19.99. $3.99 sounds like one of the older wimax plans. That would be Great to have now. I would actually sign up for that even though I only use Free. I am sure in the future as the carriers get more and more competitive with Data plans across all networks. We will see plans like that again. They way its going, I bet we starting seeing plans like this in 2017. My Fingers are crossed!!Smilie

While I do not think this is a great deal, I do not think you can compare FreedomPop with Google Voice.

Can you use Google Voice on your phone when you are not in WiFi zone?

Actually it's from earlier this year when FreedomPop decided to steal some thunder from one of Ringplus' promotions. I moved a phone from R+ for this deal. I have an unlimited data account and a 20gig with tethering on Cricket so some months this data goes unused but it's nice to have when we use the 20 gigs up on the tethered line before the end of the month.

I used to be a huge supporter of Freedompop. But my daughter's account is currently showing disabled on her phone, but not on the site. And when you try to log into their web support, its a constant loop of asking for a login even though the account credentials worked on the previous page.

Oh, and phone support is reserved for premium accounts. So I guess the service just stopped working and we have to look for something else because there's no way to contact them.

more like freedomSCAM. i ordered two sims and neither worked. I upgraded one of them to a $13 plan but it still told me my account was suspended when i tried to call. this went on for 2 months. they charged me $26 while my account was suspended and gave me ZERO minutes, ZERO text messages, ZERO data. all in all i'm out $32 and I didn't even get to make a single call
