This deal may only interest the drone hobbyists but I thought I'd share in case there are any takers here.

30% off the usual price for the Eachine VR D2 FPV Goggles for Banggood's 10th anniversary.

$69.99 with free shipping.

Promotional price expires 9/9/2016 (according to the blurb in the description text of the item).

I've bought a few items off this site, namely for drone items and other random small electronics. Most of the stuff ships from China, although sometimes items I've bought are shipped from a US warehouse as well.

Specs:
5 inch screen
800 x 480 resolution
5.8G 40ch frequency
DVR functionality with expandable 64G TF card
7.4V 2000mAh Lipo battery

A screen that has snow on signal loss, dual antennas, 2200mAH battery and option for dvr for $69? Yeah, that's worth a shot for a pair of ride along goggles. Anyone have experience with these?

I have the version prior to this. It's the same form factor as Headplay HD but a lot smaller and lighter. Mine doesn't have diversity nor DVR but screen does turn snow and works pretty decent. At this price it's a great alternative to the expensive fatsharks (which my eyes don't like).

I have the Headplay HD units, how would you compare the screen quality?

I assume you're talking about the 007, which I also have. I paid about $50 for my 007 a few months ago, so this diversity setup for $70 seems like a great deal. But another alternative would be to order the successor to the 007, the 008, which is on preorder right now for only $33. If it's as good as the 007, that's a steal.

The Headplay HD has bigger screen and is more immersive, but physically it's also a lot bigger. Headplay image quality looked better but then again I don't have a digital signal into the Eachine like I did with Headplay. I need to find my Headplay antenna for a comparison of analog signals.

At this price it's really a no brainer. If all else fails you can use it as a nice little LCD screen.

This is just the receiver, right? Can someone recommend a good TX setup to complement this? Preferably one I can buy in the same order. Also, is there an HD setup for comparable money (<$150 for RX and TX) that can be bought now or is that still impractical for FPV?

That sure is a steal, thanks for the link. But I can't find any reference of built in battery nor DVR, so I am assuming the lower price is because they are not included. But that looks like a smaller, better form factor.

I loved my headplays but admittedly if youre a proximity flyer, its a lot of range to move your eyes to see whats coming at you (I liken it to sitting 1st row at a movie theater)

For anyone on the fence, here is a relevant thread on RC groups (A definite "goto" site for anything related to FPV gear)

one of my eye is shortsighted and the other is good. Is any FPV goggle come with independent focus adjustment for etch eye?

not likely, but some of these allow you to wear your glasses inside of the goggles themselves. You might be more interested in the Fatshark "Transfomer" which is on the tail end of development now. its got binocular lenses per each eye for folks that can't get a clear picture using a standard single lens
