This seems to be a pretty average price, but i'm not well versed on LED bulbs. Amazon has a 4 pack for $19.99 that advertises a 45,000 hour life and these only have 25,000 hour life. Not sure how accurate either of those figures are. Also the ones below have a lot more reviews.

650 lumens is pretty weak.

Home Depot has LED floods marked down on clearance. I think $6.xx and $9.xx for 4 packs of varying power.

It perfect for some areas. I have them in my basement which has low ceilings and a lot of sockets - anything brighter is overkill. But you're right that for a br30 650 is on the weak side. I have another br30 that puts out 920 lumens.

Ebay has the Shine Hai BR30's - 6 for $20 shipped from china. Good price and the bulbs are nice, I just got some on discount for a review. Don't believe the UL listing claim, there's no Shine Hai in the database and no UL # on the bulbs like other bulbs have.

If this ebay link (not my listing) isn't allowed, let me know and I'll remove it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the light bulbs color temperature seems to be 3000k lumens which would give off a slight yellowish tint. At 4000k it would be pure white light.

3000K are more yellowish. If you want very white, you're looking for something around 5000K or higher.

4000K isn't quite pure white. Close though. see link below which helps visualize it.

How is this even on the FP? It's some no name brand at an OK price. Hyperikon [amazon.com]is slightly more per bulb, but with a proven track record. There's a 1W rating difference, but higher 670lm.

For what it's worth, I bought Triangle brand GU10 LEDs after trying six other brands and they were by far the best and exceeded my expectations for the price. I have a ton of can lights in my house I haven't swapped out to LED yet so I'm definitely going to give these a shot.
