Is this the thread where I can whine about the change from Bing rewards to Microsoft rewards and how I don't understand the point inflation?

Depends on how much you search for stuff. For me it's about 3 weeks. No extra work, I just changed my default search engine from Google to Bing and nkw I get $5 from Amazon every 3-4 weeks.

I got my first $5 Amazon.com Gift Card 1/26/2013

And the latest one - Shipped 9/1/2016 - was my 90th. So I have earned $450 from Bing Rewards.

The new system makes it take a little longer to get to the Amazon reward, but for this month, at least, the double points are making it easy.

My dad, who isn't as gung-ho as I am, has still made $75 in Amazon cards.

Yeah, that wasn't very nice, but I was convinced they were actually going to get rid of it soon, so I was glad they didn't just end it. They've kept it going for almost four years now, which is really amazing.

The points are basically the same, but they got rid of the basic-silver-gold levels, so it takes the same amount of points no matter what your level.

Under the old system, if you earned the maximum points per day, it took 19 days.

I don't know yet on this new system, because we have double-point-days at the moment, but I expect it may take a couple days longer once that ends.

I think the switch to MS rewards lowered the cost of the 12 Month XBL gold. It's now equivalent to $31.18 Microsoft/Xbox digital credit or $27.62 Amazon in GCs.

You can just click the "PC search" and spam the topics at the top with middle mouse button or ctrl + click (to avoid reloading the page) and get the 150 points in less than 30 seconds. Takes longest on mobile but clicking the "Popular now" tiles that come up when you click "mobile search" are the easiest way for me.

Hulu credit, Gamestop/Amazon/Starbucks GC's, XBox Live Gold membership, and some other odds and ends, but those are the main ones.

Exactly. If you use Edge on the PC, you get a bonus search, too. I doubt I spend more than five minutes per day on it to max out, unless there's one of those quizzes. You can zip through both the PC and the Mobile search pretty fast.

The point's value got reduced for sure. Previously, used to get $5 GC (Amazon/Fandango etc) for 475 points. Now It is like 5250 I think which is 525 points.

Some post the link to a working Python code that will automate the search. I'm not a programmer.

I recently cashed in my points for (before the MS Rewards conversion) for 12m Xbox Live Gold subscription. It was around 2,900pts and I earned roughly 25pts/day between mobile and desktop searches. New system caps at 250pts/day. Free stuff for searching, pretty nice deal.

Bing has some maturing to do but overall it finds what I'm looking for 80-90% of the time.

MS has all kinds of stuff in there to catch you. Heck, if you search too fast manually, it'll think you're a bot and make you Captcha the next time.
