First, Bunn's warranty and their customer service are 10 times better than Cuisinart. As one person said on here, it is comparable to the Bonavita which, IMO, is one of the best there is.
If you are a true coffee drinker, than you want coffee makers that provide you the true taste of it. For example, they say the highest temp on the Cuisinart if 170 degrees. Most testers have never gotten above 155. Bunn will range between 198 and 202. Now, you may be saying, "oh, that's too hot" but once you taste it you'll wonder why you waited this long.
A true cup of coffee, to get the best flavor, should be in that high range.
Now, about the bells and whistles you or other want. Bunn and Bonavita are made to produce excellent coffee. The more bells and whistles you have, the better chance for something to break down. Then, you get to deal with their "limited warranty". Cuisinart requires you to mail it in. We only use Bonavita coffee makers. A couple years back, our maker had a issue. They sent us a replacement overnight and then sent the label to send back the bad one.
Bells and whistles may look nice on the counter but that's all their good for.

If your like me, a crazed coffee drinker, than you want good coffee and not something that looks pretty.

And about the "cheaply made look", they may look that on the outside but they use quality parts on the inside.

Sorry if I sound like a salesman. I'm not. Just a 82 year old guy with too much time on his hands.

Just curious, is this coffee pot really worth 77 bucks?? It seems small cheap looking and basic for that price. I just bought one with auto on/off, different brew strengths, and 14 cup capacity for like 80 dollars on amazon the other day.

This is made to compete with the likes of the Bonavita Coffee makers- The go to budget brewer for coffee connoisseurs:

https://www.amazon.com/Bonavita-BV1800SS-Original-Coffee-Stainless/dp/B00P7T4WK8/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitche... [amazon.com]

These are simple straight forward coffee makers. Their main benefit being the shower-head drip design and maintaining the water at the optimal temperature for brewing.
(Though in the case of the Bunn I do not see a description of what temperature the water is brewed at)

The internal hot water tank is made of stainless steel which is a rare feature. Usually it's made of plastic.

No problem. I saw it was getting up-votes, so I was curious. Thanks to the replies here, I understand. It's not for me, but that's ok. I want a maker that makes good coffee, and I can set up and program the night before. Obviously if I wanted the best cup I would probably be getting up and grinding the beans right before I made the coffee etc... So those things wouldn't bother me. Seems like I got the right one for me, you guys can enjoy your better cup! haha

This is a great value at this price. It will give you great tasting coffee with minimal maintenance. Bunn service is great if you would ever need it. I have bought Bunns from thrift stores and all they needed was cleaning. We have a 25 year old Bunn that is still going strong.

I have the original velocity brew Thermal Carafe version and we were just on vacation staying at a resort with a kitchen so we brought our own coffee, my wife who normally couldn't care less turns to me and asks why the coffee is so bad, is it the coffee maker? That's a pretty good endorsement for this.

I know people have lauded Bunn's service here already, but I also wanted to say they were very helpful to me when I had an issue. I am within driving distance of their headquarters. I went in, they swapped out my coffee maker for a new one, and I was on my way.

Tempted as everyone keeps saying this just makes better coffee. I want to try! Though I should cut back on my coffee intake. Damn it SD.

I love this coffee pot! I would only recommend it if you are a big coffee drinker and have a pot every other day or everyday. The water will evaporate if you go too long between making a pot.

I have this maker and love it. if you're like me and don't want to waste energy by keeping it on all the time, I just put a kitchen timer on it that turns it on about a half hour before I get up in the morning. No need for it to be always on unless you spontaneously make coffee randomly.
