CVS has their summer clearance sale going on which is 75% off "summer" stuff. I found out last weekend that their end cap Play Doh resealable color packs are included in the sale even though they aren't marked (or necessarily with the summer stuff).

CVS store locator: https://www.cvs.com/store-locator/landing

Retail is $1.69 less 75% = $0.42.

Same item as Amazon [amazon.com](wants ~$8), varying colors.

Note that these packs are 8 oz. of individual colors in a resealable bag and include a "shape cutter" (whatever that is).

I was originally going to buy just a few of one color for DD's pre-k class where parents sign up for individual months (they refresh their clays as you can imagine they get nasty) but when I found out that these were on sale I bought the whole rack.

Availability should be good as, as I said, these are not specifically marked as on clearance. I've found 40+ in 2 different stores in the CT/RI area.

Can anyone confirm? I'll try to stop by on the way home today to see if I can score some. Would be great for school as OP mentioned. My kid's in Kindergarten so I'm sure his teacher would appreciate it.

I've done it at 2 different stores, one in RI and the other in CT. The clerk in CT specifically said it was included in the summer clearance but for whatever reason was still marked regular price. That, and it's not really with the summer stuff but in the same general area. I can photo a receipt if you need it.

DD's teacher sent home instructions on how to make PD which involved flour, water, oil, tartar and some cooking and I thought.... why the hell am I going to do that - I'll just buy 4 packs of a color (she signs families up for certain months by color) and be done with it. Imagine my surprise when I basically got 4 packages for the price of 1 - probably cheaper and FAR easier to just buy at that price point, so I had DW go and buy the store out. Plus, she can just leave them on a shelf until needed.

FWIW this is also the only way I can find to buy PD by COLOR. I had been looking online earlier in the day and I could only find multicolor rainbow packs of PD. Here you can pick your color if that matters.

Went to my store and it was 'only' 50% off. I didn't see any signs for summer clearance at all. Just used the price checker and it rang up at $0.84

huh. Was the summer stuff 50% off too?

I am in CT/RI - summer winding to a close here so maybe if you are in the south (?) they're not so quick to mark down.

Dunno.
