In all fairness those "wrenches" are the most useless tool I have ever gotten.

Thanks for reporting on the new vip bonus deal, though. Those going to buy something out of pocket anyway may as well get something free and then use those points to get what they were planning on buying anyway. I did that earlier in the year when I was buying a new TV. First I got the 100% points back crappy Seiko 32" TV and then used those points in part to pay for the Samsung I wanted. And my parents got a new bedroom TV.

Those wrenches are absolute junk - they bind like no one's business and once they're jammed they're pretty much toast. The number of them that were defective straight off the truck was insane. These are on my personal "No, nuh-uh, not even for a dollar, nope" list.

XOXO, former Sears tool guy

I am a die hard Craftsman fan but like everyone else in the world, it's hard to find a use for these. Like was said, if you're buying something, might as well but definitely don't let the points expire.

They stole the idea from a very similar design that an actual US manufacturer uses.. easy to Google, I'll never buy one for that reason alone.

As of Jan 2015, Sears was denied motions to dismiss, so it will probably go all the way and end up in the favor of Bionic Wrench. I just hope there's a Sears left to pay out the settlement when the case finishes.

I actually own both the bionic one and the cheap sears one. Bionic is a lot more solid better made. Only reason I got the craftsman as it was free a while back and I wanted to see for myself how close it was. Clear knock off and I hope they get what's coming to them. Is not the first time Sears has done this. The screwdriver with a little flashlight a few years back was also stolen.

Did anyone read the comments to this article? Several comments are asking "where to buy the Bionic wrench?" Why didn't they click on the link, in the first sentence of the article, where "Bionic Wrench" is highlighted?

That is the new normal in the 21st century... beg to be spoonfed even when there is already a spoon within easy reach *sigh*

Yeah I was pretty happy to see Sears motions to dismiss get smacked down and the case go forward. He'll win. I just hope there's money/assets left when he does. Eddie Lampert is transferring all the real estate out of Sears into his own companies at a blistering pace. When that's done, he'll bankrupt the company and walk away with all the really valuable stuff there was - the land. No idea why Sears shareholders haven't sued him for this massive conflict of interest yet.

The people who bought the real one seem happy with it. It's the Sears Chinese knockoffs that are useless.
