What? Using it with guitars is one if its primary functions. I, and many others, use it as a guitar input to an amp sim.

I just bought this from Adorama a few weeks ago for 110. Haven't opened it yet, anything I can do?

Is this good for plugging in and using PC as an amp simulator? Or is it strictly for recording?

I wouldn't use it for that... I use it for line ins for recording and also to power my JBL Studio monitors... works great for that (I have the 2 port model though)

If I'm not to use this for recording, is it still a decent DAC for the price? I think maybe better off buying a proper USB DAC for listening purposes, right?

Do you have any recommendations for an amp sim? I really want to record my guitar playing but also use it for playing around.

Ok, good, read headphone output on these things is a joke anyways. Will go with magni/modi stack for DAC/amp and stick with Samson meteor USB mic.
