Thread Details

YMMV - I just saw this offer on only ONE of my AMEX cards under Amex Offers and Benefits - Check your offers:

Office Depot OfficeMax - Spend $100 or more, get $20 back

Details
Get a one-time $20 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $100+ in one or more transactions in-store at Office Depot OfficeMax or online at officedepot.com by 10/21/2016. See terms for exclusions.

Terms
Valid at any participating location in the US and US Territories. Not valid for e-gift card purchases. Valid in-store and online at US website only. Excludes military stores, Buyer Initiated Payments (BIP), invoicing, MaxAssurance, Office Depot Foundation, Grand & Toy. Enrollment limited. Offer is non-transferable. Must add offer to Card and use same Card to redeem. Limit 1 statement credit(s) per American Express® online account. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 10/21/2016, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you may not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer.

Should help with some manufactured spending and offsetting gift card fees! Wink

Agreed! The AMEX offers do appear to be more and more YMMV these days.

...but I was also able to find the offer on one of my wife's many cards too. So that's two for us. Time to check my son's account and my parents accounts! Cool

Yes, you should be able to...and have no problems getting the credit from AMEX as AMEX has no idea what you are buying - it could be $100 worth of paper, a computer, or gift cards - AMEX only see's what the total amount of your purchase is on their end and gives you the credit.

Even in cases where they say in the fine print that gift cards are excluded or other exclusions...if they don't know what you bought, they will never know. I don't even know why they put exclusions if there is no way for them to validate them - maybe they're just copying & pasting exclusion's across multiple offers.

Then again, maybe it's an honor system thing to them. On SlickDeals, the honor system only applies to about 4-8% of SlickDealers!

I received this offer on both mine and my wife's Delta Gold AMEX.

It was not on any of our other AMEX cards, including not found on our SPG cards as DealGuy had...but at least it has been now reported across multiple brands of AMEX cards.

Got on SPG, and used the offer already as I had to buy $600 MasterCard Gift cards under the $30 promotion and do MS on Chase Sapphire Reserve to meet min spend, so did the split payment with $100 on AMEX and rest on Sapphire Reserve....immediately got the email from AMEX...

Good timing....Thanks OP!! Reps on the way...
