Here's a very nice discount on this high-quality and versatile kayak carrier system.
Thule 835 PRO $140 shipped free, no sales tax except in MA, CO, OR, MN
Sold on Amazon, via seller "Rack Attack"

List price is $219.95.
best price currently available on google shopping search [] is $176.74 by just one seller. All other sellers have it priced right at $200.
bonus items: Includes two ratcheting bow and stern tie downs and two straps with buckle protectors for safe boat transport
manufacturer's item page
This is a deluxe kayak carrier that securely folds down when not in use and locks into place. Also locks in upright position.
The included straps are "the good kind", which means they are light in weight, include protective rubber covering for the metal buckle, and bow and stern lines are both the ratcheting type for an instantly snug fit.
Small enough profile, so that two complete systems can be mounted to roof rack at the same time.
"Over 80% of Thule products sold in North America are made in USA, and Thule employs over 1,000 American workers."

Only one dead hooker each (two mounts per hooker) is recommended with these carriers. Don't forget the neck and ankle straps. If something happens and it's their products failure they won't cover anything if you weren't following proper transport tie down instructions. I know because I worked at a dead hooker shop for a time and they sold Yakima and Thule.
