Thread Details

Long story short, I just received a call from ebay team, and was informed that they will be reversing their policy on 13th September for probably 30 days where you'll be able to buy gift cards with ebay gift cards again. Check the terms and conditions [ebay.com] on 13th September, hopefully it has all the relevant details.

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, or if it is not the right place to put it. I remember seeing some threads when they stopped accepting ebay gift cards for other gift card purchases, so wanted to give everyone on SD a heads up.

Cheers!

It wasn't posted directly, it was however mentioned under the original thread about ebay GCs NOT being allowed to buy 3rd party GCs in the last few comments of that thread: http://slickdeals.net/f/9038599-psa-major-new-restrictions-on-ebay-gift-card-usage-no-longer-accepted-for-3rd-party-gift-cards

You sure this isn't state specific, like California where they have better rules protecting consumers?

I doubt it'll be, but who knows. The lady who called didn't say anything state specific.

Kinda sleazy. You know they're only allowing this to drive up Q3 sales revenue.

Screw eBay. I cashed out all my eBay GCs last week when they had a $10 off $50 coupon. All I had to do was selling something exactly $50 and buying it with another eBay account. Then I canceled the transaction to avoid paying eBay fees. Had to pay $1.50 Paypal fee so I made $8.50 per $50 and I don't have to be stuck with worthless eBay GCs.

New to selling on eBay. At what point did you cancel? And how did you make $8.50 for each $50?
