Should have known I would get thumbs down for a military only deal.

Not from me, as you clearly identified it in the title. Besides, as has been pointed out here at SD before, all you have to do to get in on the deal is go down to your recruiter's office and sign some papers! Big Grin

And this does look slick. $1k less than the lowest recorded at the Camel from Amazon and at AAFES you save ~$250 in taxes in most locations.

I was in the military. Unless you're at least an E9 or O3, how the hell are you able to afford this?

Stop going to the bars on the weekend.LMAO
But really, that's how I can afford it. But they screwed me over when I tried to buy an 80 inch. Never ordering online from them again.

I hope young troops aren't spending their cash on this. Several months paychecks right here...

Pretty much they had an 80 inch 4k Vizio for about $3k in stock. Then they told me if I open their credit line, could get 10% (or might've been 15%) off on first day purchase. So at least $300 off for that size, heck yeah. Ordered the tv and a really long stand for it. I got the stand, but they didn't ship the tv and said they were waiting for something to process. 3 weeks later and they said out of stock, but more on the way. I asked every 2 weeks and same reply. 5 months later, order got cancelled. So, opened credit and got some points down for no reason. Lost my discount. And have a long tv stand with a smaller tv, which just doesn't look right together.

In 2000 or so the BX at my base got their first shipment of plasma TVs. I think they were 42", but I remember the price - $9999. I remember it well because they sold 3 of them, two to units in base (fraud, waste, & abuse) and the third was to an airman in the dorms. I did hear that he returned it after a week or so. Hopefully his 1st Sgt or someone talked some sense into him.

Was it the last week of September and they needed to spend all their budget before they lose it?

My father retired as a 3-star. He says even he is not stupid enough to waste $4000 on a TV.

To pay the least amount possible at the current time. I hate comments like these. As if us who can afford this TV don't care about saving money. A penny saved is a penny earned....
